There is no logic to it. It was flat out stupid. Bad coaching. Bad football. Bad season. Andrew Goodrich, please find a way to make a change. This isn't working and one more year of this while waiting for his contract to end will kill the program, even if the current state of G5 football is tacked against us.

By all accounts Evan is a great guy. If he wants it I believe he would make a great coach one day, perhaps at his alma mater.

You've got to go. When you threaten any poster you should be banned.

Very interesting search you did Mango. Annese seems perfect for our situation. He will have to be patient and wait at least five years to build the program and re-establish the resources necessary to compete in the upper half of the MAC. But that being said he seems a good candidate. I hope Goodrich finds a way to begin that search as soon as the season is over, preferably before it is over.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see Joe Is not a head coach. Most of our downfall today was related to coaching. And for the record I have been a JoMo fan. Enough! We keep committing the same mistakes that good coaching should correct. So what do you do if you are Goodrich? I see three options: You ask Joe to resign and forego his last year b/c you can't afford the buyout. You sweeten the deal as much as you realistically can knowing that you have little to work with Joe refuses to resign so you pay him to stay home while an interim takes next year. During that time you conduct your search knowing the program will probably gets worse, but at least you are preparing to wipe the slate clean and rebuild You keep Joe and the program deteriorates to the worst in D1, if it isn't there now. At least there is Sac State. This is one of the saddest days in Zip athletics regardless of the sport.

Regardless of the hapless state of our football program today is still Kent and that means we need to win. We can all unite on that. Even those whose every post is a snide, stating-the-obvious, boring crack against Joe Moorhead. Anytime we play Kent we must be together in our dislike of them. Goodrich will sort out the best direction for the program afterwards. Of that I have no doubt. I just hope he is with us long enough to see the positive outcome of his decisions. he is destined for an athletic program far bigger than us.

This team has so much potential, yet there seems very little urgency to reach it. By now (in the season) we should be getting better and turning the juice on. Zip_ME87 is right in that the 2018 squad is a perfect example to follow. Find out what they had, add it to this team and they will go far.

The thing that impressed me about Georgetown was that they were solid at every position. Not one weakness. They didn't have any particular "world beaters" at any position, but they were damn good at every place on the field. They parlayed that into playing as a team with a unified vision and complete understanding of what they were coached to do. They are the best team I have seen in the last two years. The outcome against Pitt does not surprise me.

This was a poor performance by us. There is no way Providence should be playing even with us. I agree with another poster that we get nothing from our wings. I would take it a step further and say we get nothing from our midfield. That is the difference between this year's team and last year's. Our defense is so good it covers for the weakness of our midfield in scoring. It is frustrating because we can control the game until we get in the attacking third. Then we want the perfect shot and we dick around with the ball for forever. Take the shot the D gives you regardless of the clear path to the goal. The shot can be redirected or played off deflection or own-goaled. This team can be very good, but games like tonight drive you nuts. This should have been a win.

Great game! Maybe I'm looking at it with Zip colored glasses, but I thought we were the better team. Creighton is nowhere as good as Georgetown. We had so many chances to add more goals, sometimes with the net wide open. But we did not finish. We had far more than Creighton. Last night I talked with coach Ger Coppinger. I told him I thought this would be a great game as I had heard they were really good. He said there was absolutely no fear of CU and we would beat them because our D was stronger. I believe he was right. The only difference is we failed to convert our opportunities as we usually do. This team believes in itself and can go deep in the tournament.

Last night was an entertaining matchup of two formidable teams. If you missed it you lost an opportunity to see the game at an elite level. The first half had me concerned. It thought 'Cuse was getting the better of play. They certainly had a few opportunities that could have been goals. The high press bothers us and we have struggled to make teams pay. When played well it can suffocate a team like Georgetown did. But then again they are the best team I have seen in the last two years. The second half was a different story. We used diagonal passes to get behind their press and despite the heart-stopping clearance on our goalline we dominated. I would like to see O'Rourke take Sears under his wing and show him how to penetrate better. Sears seems lost when he gets the ball one on one. Sears technical skills are supposed to be his strength, but the college game in the Big East has caused him to slow down and that plays into the defenders. If he grows his game that will take more pressure off Remi. With Creighton Sunday this is a good time to be putting it all together.

Some posters are a broken record that bore the hell out of me. Say something new and intelligent rather than bitching about the obvious.

I agree with this analysis by the eminently qualified fknbuflobo. The better team won. We are nor at their level. They had no weaknesses and to beat them we had to play a perfect game. We were not capable of doing that. We can do better though. This game showed us what level we needed to sustain to go deep in the playoffs. I do not feel we have found the best 11 to do that. The process continues and the coaches have to figure it out with the talent we have.

This game was more about us rather than Minnesota as far as I'm concerned. We repeatedly made mistakes that took us out of the game. The Zips came to play, but left discipline at home. The coaches have to change that. If they do we have the potential to be better than .500. I was not impressed with Minn. I did see progress in several aspects of our game: DL, OL, LB's, QB's. If we clean up the drops, penalties, missed tackles, fumbles and stupid decisions we will have the team we want. The season's not over and UNLV is beatable.

In the manner of Zip_ME87 finding positives in last night's lackluster performance I also want to applaud our back four, GK and Matt Dreas. We are solid in the back and can always build from there while we sort out the attack. Goalkeeping has been better than anticipated and Matt is a beast as a defensive mid. He is deserving of Ist team All American honors. Last night was a pee poor performance but we have been here before and we can recover. This team can be exceptional.

Both Butler and the Zips were unimpressive. Our forwards were not a factor and the same could be said of our wings. We missed O'Rourke. Roman has yet to find his form and Sears needs time to adjust to the speed of attacking. He's got all the skills, but he is still raw. Tonight was an opportunity lost. It was more about us than what Butler did.

This attendance was horrible for a school as steeped in history as Pitt. It gives me hope that we will overcome our attendance issues in the years to come because we continue to make incremental improvements to the program and the event experience.

Keep it going Zips. Perhaps this is the year we catch lightning in a bottle. Stranger things have happened. As Ted Lasso says "Believe".

Strange things happen in the Big House when the MAC visits. Years ago the Zips went up north and outplayed UM. We got the ball down to the UM 2 yard line with 40+ seconds left, but we had no timeouts. The refs took over 30 seconds to spot the ball thus taking two plays away from us. We failed on the one play we had to punch it in for the win. I respect the Big Ten, but I can't stand Michigan.

My biggest concern in the Wake game is not who is at QB, but if he will keep his undershirt tucked in. I'm shocked that there isn't more concern over this. Where are your values?

I like the white uni with gold helmut. On the other hand I hate the undershirt of a different color hanging out. It doesn't carry any class, is sloppy and looks undisciplined. It portrays a team that carries no pride in what they project to the fans.

We lost a little momentum with this loss, but we move on. Duquesne is a mediocre team in a league only slightly better than the MAC. The Dukes did expose our poor outside back defense. We had no answer for their wings and the score could have been worse. Our attack had a bright moment here and there, but primarily was shut down where we got in the attacking third. The biggest deficiency I find with the team is that we do not have D1 athletes. We have no speed, no explosion, no separation. Maggie needs time to change that.
