  1. Absolutely. It would look really bad and a lot of attrition would happen if we signed a bunch of recruits and then fired the staff they chose to play for a month later. Not to mention the new staff would already be way behind in prep for the following season. If this happens, it happens soon after the conclusion of the season.
  2. Larry best be getting on it now with no MAC-C in sight. It would be nice if a media member would ask him/Bowden about that. A bowl game at 6-6 might feel kind of meh to a lot of people, but it is still a positive achievement that looks good for the program/to recruits.
  3. this is rich. https://www.toledoblade.com/sports/college/2018/10/14/college-football-bowling-green-state-university-mike-jinks-david-briggs/stories/20181014165?abnpageversion=evoke Also - BG reportedly can't get any donors to cover the buy-out. Coming out of the Athletic Department's pocket.
  4. Pivotal game in regards to the season/Bowden's job. Win and we are still on track to go bowling. Lose and it probably all but seals this regime's fate barring some unforeseen circumstances.
  5. time to turn this one off.
  6. changes need made at QB, RB, and possibly OC. This is bad.
  7. anytime you can run a swing pass on 3rd and 10 to your power back you gotta do it.
  8. I won't miss Tyree Jackson. Seems like he always makes us pay with his feet.
  9. Happy to come out of that drive with 3 after a questionable non-targeting call and us shooting ourselves in the foot with the block in the back. I think we got a lucky spot on 4th and 1.
  10. Kwad being out sucks. Chance for somebody to step up though. Going to be a tall task today. Let's go Zips!
  11. No clue how accurate this is, but it says Marks and Johnson are questionable. http://www.donbest.com/ncaaf/injuries/
  12. This is a pivotal game. Lose and MAC Championship hopes are over, as Buffalo will likely come out of the East and will have the tiebreaker over us and a 2 game lead early into conference play. I don't get how we can play so good vs Northwestern and ISU, then lay a giant turd coming off a a bye week vs Miami. The way coach talked, it seems like we are going to give some other guys looks at RB, so its hard to say that won't turn out to be a positive. Van apparently had a good spring/camp, but he looks the same he always has to me, and the stats confirm my thoughts. Hopefully Kato can start throwing like he was a Northwestern. I think Buffalo is solid, but not like Toledo last year or WMU the year before or anything like that. We can definitely beat them. If not, I'd probably be down with some changes, like trying out Ramart. Though I agree he has looked a little shaky in his limited time this season. He could settle with extended playing time. This season could end up going down the gutter if we get embarrassed Saturday/coach refuses to make a QB switch/Ramart underwhelms if there is one. If so, I'd want Larry to force a change. Not necessarily fire Bowden, (as I'm a believer in the defensive staff, the recruiting is getting better every year, and I like continuity) but force his hand to move on from Milwee. The offense is young, but I think most of us can agree there is quite a bit of talent at the skill positions. We need more from that unit.
  13. 2 additional sports (one of which is supposed to be solely donor funded - the other added due to title 9) were announced long before the announcement that the redundant and out of demand programs would be cut.
  14. Updated.
  15. Take it FWIW, but 247's crystal ball prediction has this guy committing to us .... https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Diamante-Howard-94576/RecruitInterests/
  16. Riak definitely looks to have filled out his frame some. So many new names, and a lot of potential. Should be a much more tolerable season.
  17. Coach Mounds comes through again https://247sports.com/Recruitment/Keyon-Martin-123029/RecruitInterests/
  18. Jatavis and the Chargers will also be in Cleveland next week.
  19. He's prob been 3rd string up until this point with Jest and Baptiste ahead of him on the depth chart. He's likely to get more of chance now that Baptiste is done for the season.

  21. I'm at work and twitter doesn't work right here, but Brett McMurphy just tweeted that NC State will host ECU at noon on Dec 1 if both teams are not playing in the conference championship game. I really hope we don't miss the boat on this make up game. I want a 12th game if we are not in the championship.
  22. Redshirt watch (I may have missed a walk on or two in this and I'm only looking at freshman): Morgan State: Brandon Bischoff, Keyondre White, Daishawn Brimage, Devanier Floyd, Jalen Hooks, Zach DiLauro, RJ Kelly, Vincent Fonte, Logan Hawkins, Tim Scippio. Northwestern: Brandon Bischoff, Daishawn Brimage, Jalen Hooks Iowa State: Brandon Bischoff, Daishawn Brimage, Jalen Hooks, Tim Scippio Info pulled from post game stats - participation report.
  23. Miami is a team that has seemingly been on the rise the past few years, has been bringing in solid recruiting classes, and is a team that beat us last year. Their record is bad at this point, but all of their losses have came against likely bowl teams. I admittedly haven't watched them yet this year (plan to watch the WMU game sometime this week), but unless they have been hampered by injuries or Martin is losing momentum, I'd bet this team is better than their record and one we should not take lightly. Us coming off of a bye may help. My initial prediction is the Zips by 1-2 scores. We better not take them lightly or homecoming could be spoiled.
