  1. Here is a complete list of offers for 2019 (at least the recruits with 247 profiles). https://247sports.com/college/akron/Season/2019-Football/Offers
  2. That's my general thinking as well. Hope to come out of OOC 2-2, win the MAC East, and see what happens in Detroit. Though it will be tough this year as Ohio should be about the same and Miami and Buffalo seem to be on the rise. Defense should be pretty darn stout. I was thinking during the game about how stacked we are at LB. Looks like we have 7 guys that can play quality minutes - Gilbert, Bell, Lloyd, King, Bubba, Lako, and even Ward. Something to keep in mind - our offense was likely playing without our top WR in MTB (maybe top 2 as I'm high on McGriff..if he's even on the team), top RB in Sands (maybe top 2 RBs if you include Keyondre), top 2 guys at H Back (though Wolfley could surpass them), and we were playing touch. Many of those sacks on Kato would not have ended that way in a real game. The only guy I remember getting injured was Sampson. Hopefully it was nothing serious.
  3. It was nice to just watch some football. Got a nice deal on sneakers and some compression pants. I, too, got sucked into that damn grab bag and got a Wilson bobblehead. I saw some people getting what looked to be youth sized Lebron Akron jerseys. I personally didn't take much from the game. It was nice to see O'Leary and Gasser hit decent length FGs. One bad long snap which caused a safety on a punt attempt. Lyons looked pretty upset about it. Rich Hall and Wolfley stuck out to me. Booker and Williams better be ready to compete, because he is going to push them. I saw Warren Ball and Jojo on the sidelines. Good to see them there. Looked like MTB was held out, hopefully for just precautionary reasons. I keep wondering about McGriff. I did not see a #8 on the sidelines. I also noticed Darryl Long lined up in the slot once.
  4. Has anyone heard anything about Suggs' status? This article mentions 3 scholly RBs are expected to join the team in the fall. We've got Alce and Floyd as true freshman coming in. I'm guessing the 3rd is Suggs rejoining the team.
  5. I like what I see. Offer list seems to be made up of mostly low-majors, but I guess that beats no other offers. Verbal commits doesn't even show us as offering, so who knows if we are seeing the full list.
  6. and Memphis and Georgetown, among others. I think my reason for being disappointed is I had my hopes up that we were getting a pretty nice player when Parrish was seemingly pushed out. It seems we've mostly struck out (with the current only outstanding offer being Alvarez). Here's to hoping they can save face and close the class with 2 nice high school recruits.
  7. Caleb McConnell commits to Rutgers. What on earth is going on....... https://247sports.com/player/caleb-mcconnell-94511 Only outstanding and uncommitted offer at this point is Alvarez.
  8. TJ Moss has committed to South Carolina. Bummer.
  9. KD has had two players leave this offseason, including a talented freshman and the 3rd leading returning scorer who is getting looks from UConn and Oklahoma to name a few programs. It's just the state of college basketball, IMO.
  10. Which makes me feel better, but is still surprising. These coaches better be working some recruiting magic behind the scenes.
  11. what in the f. Today sucks!
  12. Wow. He really doesn't want to be in Akron. https://www.ohio.com/akron/news/local/ua-president-is-finalist-for-top-job-at-utah-state-university#.Ws-j3-gUSBA.twitter
  13. I like the mention that he is making his presence felt, but I wouldn't call him a newcomer. He played in 11 games in 16 and 3 last year before the injury.
  14. It is the new norm in CBB. Happens at every program.
  15. Can't speak for the MAC squads (especially football), but off of the top of my head, Butler,George Mason, and FGCU's NCAA tourney success and the increase in applications is well documented. http://eaglenews.org/news/fgcu/fgcu-admissions-spikes-march-madness-run/
  16. Agreed. I bet there is a grad transfer out there with a year of eligibility that can make our team better.
  17. Source?
  18. Yeah I'm down for the best player we can get at this point, regardless of position.
  19. It's almost like az71 isn't aware that we have a 6'11" former 4 star recruit who is eligible this year as well.
  20. So for comparison sake and with the caveat of it being against lesser competition, he shot 2.6% better than Utomi on all FGs last year, 2% better on 3 point %, and 5% better at the FT line. I'll be the first to say I don't know jack about evaluating basketball players, but trying to not be biased, his release looks pretty slow. Maybe it just looks awkward though because he is a lefty. Hopefully he brings it! Eligible immediately with 3 years left.
  21. He seems to shoot pretty efficiently considering his position.
  22. Jeremy Roscoe committed. http://verbalcommits.com/players/jeremy-roscoe
  23. A few things that stuck out to me from your comments: Has Sampson overtaken (at least for the day) Reinke as the starting DE opposite of Davis? Your comment about Jean-Baptiste making an impact this year is very welcomed as I did not have any opinion of him. "We're a little thin at WR, but reinforcements are coming." Would you mind elaborating on that? I haven't heard of any of our guys being injured and am not aware of anyone else coming besides true freshman. Anything positive at all re: McGriff? Thanks!!
  24. Of the people mentioned in that article, I could see one of the big freshman backs being immediate contributors (White or Alce) as they are pretty highly rated and a short yardage back is a need and we do have short yardage formations. In the past we've used TEs and even a nose guard to get short yardage. Hopefully that won't be needed anymore, though it did seem to work most of the time, albeit gimmicky. MJ McGriff as he is a transfer from IL and looks talented on tape. We lost 5 WRs from last year's team. None were really of superior talent, but all were in the rotation most of the season. He reminds me a lot of poor man's JoJo Natson, who was on the team a few years ago and is now in the NFL. Bryce Peterson and/or Landon Forman as they are both JUCO guys and we don't have a lot of experienced depth at OL plus have a few holes to fill from last year due to graduation.
