tpsjugglerdude Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 Our team managers that is. Akron is #2 in the nation in the latest Team Manager's national rankings. These games seem to be all the rage lately with ESPN, Washington Post, and other mainstream news doing stories on them. http://www.kpisports.net/rankings/d-i-mens-basketball-managers/ Quote
zippyfan34 Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 I was just reading an article on ESPN and was wondering if we had enough guys for a team. Pretty cool! Quote
zippy5 Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 I saw a Joe Dunn tweet claiming we were ranked #3 and thought it was a joke. That's... cool? Quote

mes102 Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 They even have bracketology for this... http://www.kpisports.net/2016/02/15/manager-games-postseason-tournament-bracketology/ Quote
LZIp Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 Some of our managers have been there for close to 4+ years (regardless of what gozips.com says). I played basketball with some of them in the rec when I was in school. They were involved with the team then. Quote

I read on ESPN that Greg Oden played for the Buckeye's manager team earlier this year. It seems that a lot of these teams bring back old players as well as the team managers. Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 I wonder if they can stop dribble penetration. 4 Quote

Ham Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 I wonder if this is an indication of McNees' coaching ability? Quote
Hilltopper Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 It's an indication of KDs coaching ability if any. These are the guys that practice against the team everyday. They run the same plays in these games. Same inside outside basketball and 3 point shooting. Quote
mes102 Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) This is cool. Would love for us to be able to "vote" them through in the NCAA managers' tournament. http://www.kpisports.net/2016/02/15/manager-games-postseason-tournament-to-debut-in-march/ Edited February 26, 2016 by mes102 Quote

Hilltopper Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Zips finish the season 8-0 with a 90-70 victory over OU tonight. Quote
Hilltopper Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 The managers need our support to advance in the tournament. Please vote to keep them going forward in winning a national championship. Quote
