Twelfth Game

I have not really been in favor of trying to buy a home game against an FCS school to get a 12th game. If it is not in the budget to host an FBS school then I would look at road FBS options for a 12th game. I don't know who is out there in FBS without a 12th scheduled game though. I brought up UNC before as a potential Power 5 road opponent but if they aren't in bowl eligibility territory then they probably wouldn't want to do it.

I guess Nebraska is off the hook for all but travel expenses?

I recall the Nebraska AD saying he didn't want to pay anything other than the travel expenses ($160,000). 

 

If we're getting $1,000,000 to play SC (the going rate), I have to believe the Husker/Zips lawyers will call it a wash and move on.  

 

Just my opinion/speculation. If we can get the million from Nebraska too, all the better.

I'd have to believe us agreeing to this game would forfeit our right to get the full guarantee from Nebraska. Perhaps we felt it was best to take the guaranteed money over going to court and potentially losing the case against Nebraska.

Tempting.  We will be driving back from Disney on the 1st but our plan was probably to leave at 2-3 am so we could be home around 5pm at dark.  So we could change departure time to 5am, get to the game around kickoff and if we leave after get home about 1 am but then we have to do the mountains of Virginia/W.V. at night.  The wife will probably just want to get home but may want to check.

Nebraska travel expenses covered + one-MILLion dollars from USC = making lemonade out of lemons. 580-mile/8h40m down-and-back is SO tempting, especially in early December. Need to beat Eastern and BUGS so the USC game doesn't matter ... as much. Very cool with how everything worked out. A bowl game of sorts.
