Zips1991 Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Enrique was active with the Timberwolves last game but didn't play. He's active again tonight, against his former team, and Minnesota is currently up by about 30 so he may see some time in the 4th quarter. 1 Quote

He did end up playing 3 minutes tonight but didn't record any notable stats. 2 Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Someone rescue him from Minnesota. Please. 1 Quote
Zips1991 Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Minnesota has several players out tonight for rest and minor injuries, so I'd expect Enrique may see some time tonight also. Quote

1981 grad Posted April 10 Report Posted April 10 Minnesota is locked into the 6th playoff position so I would think that they would rest some of the started and maybe Freeman would get some court time. Quote
Zippy87 Posted April 13 Report Posted April 13 Enrique is already getting some run tonight. 4 points in 5 minutes. 1 Quote

Zippy87 Posted April 13 Report Posted April 13 (edited) He played well overall. Along with the 13/7 he also had 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. His +/- of 25 led the team. Edited April 13 by Zippy87 7 Quote

I believe players can sign two-way deals their first three years in the NBA. After that, things may get harder for him. But if he can land in a good spot for next year, where he can get some real playing time, he can prove himself and get a full-time contract. Edited April 13 by Zips1991 1 Quote

I do not. I watched several of his games and he is a good g League player but did not stand out. He plays the wing and was just not the impact player like he was at Akron. He needs to improve his 3 point shot, develop moves to the basket, and also get stronger to compete at the NBA level. His last few games where he was averaging a double double show that he was improving. It will be interesting if he gets another 2 way. 1 Quote

He's being asked to play on the perimeter, which wasn't what made him impactful at Akron. I understand NBA size makes it impractical for him to play him at the 5 unless it's situational. It's just going to be challenging for him to make the NBA long-term (5+ year career) if he's being asked to play SF or stretch 4. He's hindered by the fact he's not 2-3 inches taller. 1 Quote

He shot 34% from 3 this season in the G League - not elite, but solid. Iowa had him play the 5, 4, and 3 at different times this season, and he seemed to be most comfortable and effective at the 4. That's my biggest beef with Minnesota - they never really let him get comfortable in one spot this season. I do agree he has a long way to go if teams view him as a 3 in the NBA. His best shot IMO is finding a team who will let him develop as a stretch four. He's a bit undersized there, but I think he can overcome that with his motor. Quote
