Brookhart brought a lot of good JUCO WR's to Akron during his first go-around. Deryn Bowser and Jeremy LaFrance come to mind. He also got David Harvey for 1 year (5-star Frosh. from Penn Hills with mad skills, and no desire to go to class).

 

Worked with Antonio Bryant and Larry Fitzgerald at Pitt. Guy knows elite WR's.

David Harvey..... on the Zips folklore of what could of been. Hixon graduated to the NFL and Harvey came in and blew everyone away. I believe he averaged over 20 yrds a catch.

To my knowledge we haven’t offered yet, but linebacker Rodney Groce is in the portal. We offered him out of JUCO before he chose UTSA. Committed to Miss. State out of HS and was an All-American JUCO LB. Something to keep an eye on.

I believe he was committed to Toledo before his recruiting took off and signed with Kentucky.

 

Edit: Went back and did a little digging. He ran a 4.48 at a UA camp. Track speed doesn’t always correlate to the football field, but that’s impressive for a guy 6’3” 190lbs. He certainly looks fast on film, so enough of that speed must carry over.
