Looks accurate based on what has been made available to us so far, but I believe we'll have more than 5 non-conference games.

No way.   The three games in the Cayman tournament before Thanksgiving have been "known" for weeks. A game in the Pacific time zone is missing.

What a pathetic conference. 7-12 have barely been competitive and have largely stayed 7-12 for the better part of 2 decades.

Also, I forgot Payton returns to KSUcks. I hate that guy.

Generally speaking, you are right ... but can't remember NIU being ranked this high pre-season, or Ball State ranked this low. Also, still believe BG is being greatly under-valued.

I can't recommend highly enough to bookmark D1 Docket if you're interested in finding out who we schedule OOC as soon as possible year after year. The dude meticulously documents all OOC schedule info throughout the country, often using the FOIA to find the contracts that reveal such games.

Based on that source, we have ten games thus far (2 more than that ESPN link at the moment), below, including getting the answer to the eagerly-anticipated question of who our non-D1 opponent is this year.  Teaser: It's not Concord!

11/6 @South Dakota State
11/11 SOUTHERN MISS
11/19 FIU, Cayman Islands Classic
11/20, Marshall or Utah State, Cayman Islands Classic
11/21, Oakland, Drake, Loyola Marymount, or Stephen F. Austin, Cayman Islands Classic
12/5, BRADLEY
12/9, @ Northern Kentucky
12/17, MIAMI-HAMILTON
12/12, GARDNER-WEBB
12/30, St. Bonaventure, in Cleveland

Miami-Hamilton, you ask?  Yes!  They are a branch of Miami of Ohio, of course.  They aren't D2! They aren't D3!, SO HELP ME GOD, THEY AREN'T EVEN NAIA! No, the "Harriers" are a part of something called the USCAA! They play in a conference called the Ohio Regional Campus Conference, which they share with our own dearly beloved Wayne College branch.

Gardner-Webb is the other heretofore unrevealed opponent.  D1 Docket's shading indicates Akron's schedule is "unreleased," which means it's at least possible there are more games to be added.

Yes I remember playing Miami-Hamilton back in my WC golf and basketball days 20ish years ago.  I just checked out their schedule and didn’t see Wayne on there and it looks like indoor sports were discontinued after COVID as they repurposed the gym space.  That’s unfortunate.  https://wayne.uakron.edu/news-media/news-details.dot?newsId=cec62259-fef1-4d31-934b-7360f871e543

They did finish second in the nation in whatever “D2” tournament this was that also had Kent state Tusc.  But really these guys won’t even be on par with “good” Wooster teams we have had in the past and still be by 50.  https://basketball.theuscaa.com/2023_Championships/MD2_-_Final.pdf

Miami-Hamilton!!!

If the Zips are still looking for a couple of games, they could ramp up local interest by scheduling the Goodyear Wingfoots. There must be enough of the players still above grass that they could put together a team.

Also might consider contacting some of the area YMCAs to see if there is any interest in playing the Zips.

By the way, the Harriers have the contest with Akron listed as an exhibition game on their schedule.

Yes, this is quite common in D1 vs. non D1 games in basketball.  It's exhibition only for the lower-classified school so they don't have to take an L along with that sweet buy-game money in a game that, frankly, they have absolutely no chance of winning.

I wonder if we'll pick up another Western US game in addition to UNLV. That's quite a trip for a single game.

Schedule is pretty much finalized but not announced yet.  The problem with the UNLV date  is the closeness to the holiday and the return trip from Grand Cayman.  It's travel time issue not a player fatigue issue.  The third game in the Cayman tourney is Tuesday 11/21.  The UNLV game is a week later.   Thanksgiving weekend in the middle.

I hope Noah Robotham can attend that game at the Thomas &  Mack center.

Any of you Zips fans booking your tickets to Vegas.  I booked mine yesterday.
