Giveaways, theme nights, The Outback, some actual in-game entertainment, bringing back an in-game host. I know Larry Williams was often seen as doing more harm than good when it came to men's hoops, so I'm wondering if the same thing was going on with Guthrie. GP1 Posted January 18 Report Share Posted January 18 My view of attendance is this. The experience of those at the game is more important than those who don't go. If the Athletic Department put it's best foot forward for the attendees given what they have, I'm good. They can't control the bad time and day of the week in last night's example. Getting to a 6 PM game on Friday is difficult for a lot of people. When I go to a sporting event, I won't allow myself to be rushed. I like to go for a couple of beers, at least, before the game and take my time... maybe a decent meal. If I can't, I won't go. If I still lived in Akron, I would not have gone last night. As I recall, when I looked in the summer it appeared that it had gone up to $100. They issued passes for Lot 1 for season ticket holders but there's no one apparently checking or charging when you enter. ZippyRulz Posted February 5 Report Share Posted February 5 I parked at Lot 9 for the soccer playoff game with no problem and thought I'd do the same for last night's bb game but there was a police car prowling around the area and I wasn't sure if it would be OK. I didn't see any game parking signage at the deck and wasn't sure if it was available... finally I googled it and found that it was. Which is quite nice and convenient. Apparently the season ticket parking passes also allow access to the Lots 2 & 8 surface parking but $200 GA season tickets would buy 13 GA admissions (w/free deck parking) and most fans probably wouldn't get to more home games than that.
