LZIp
Just took a look at the current roster. Two new names to keep an eye on: Ahmarian Granger: Former WR at Old Dominion. Part time starter last year, committed to James Madison this recruiting cycle, but never ended up there..possibly as a result of their coach getting poached to Indiania. Issiah Walker: looked like a big time prospect coming out of high school. Apparently spent time at both Florida, Miami, and JUCO. Had a lot of offers (and commitments) this most recent recruiting cycle, including to Colorado. Ultimately was supposed go to to Texas State, but ended up here. Apparently only a redishirt Jr, but seems like one we shouldn't get our hopes up about being here more than a year. Regardless, could be a real nice plug at one of the tackle positions for this season. Also noticed two more OL: Alex Fox from IUP (D2) and Jacob Kumfert from St Francis (PA). Those seem to be more walk on caliber based on their collegiate stats/initial prospect pedigree.

This will be Moorhead’s most talented team since his arrival. In that sense there should be plenty of optimism. On the flip side, the three Power games early in the schedule make for a difficult setup to start the season. All the conference games are winnable. They are boom or bust types, so why not take a swing and see what happens. Fox was most recently a JUCO and I assume would be on scholarship. He should compete for the backup center spot. Kumfert is probably a walk-on. I don’t think he played at St. Francis. If he did, it wasn’t much.

taylormade28
And for the record i was VERY disappoint when i heard the news in fact i hung the phone up! First time away from me and he couldn't handle himself. I couldnt wait for the season especially after that spring game. The Ohio State game would have just been another game for him, that #1 WR JJ was his teammate in the 10th grade, Tate #17 Zayden played him when he was at IMG lined up on an island 0 catches, Inns beat him in the state game so this would have been one tha i wanted to see but its not happening. I wish the Zips the best!

I wish the Zips the best! Thanks for the update. Unfortunately the responsibility of children being on their own for the first time can be tough to manage. Seemed like half of my dorm floor failed out after my freshman year. I even failed Algebra my first semester due to not going to class (then got an A as I should have originally the 2nd time around). Best of luck to Zayden and hope to see him back in the Blue and Gold!

In the process of updating the positions and realized both Fox and Walker were 1st Team JUCO All-Americans this past season. Not sure what went on at Texas State with Walker, but I’d imagine both players will be pushing for starting spots. At first I thought Fox would be the backup (and he still may be the backup), but he should at least push Williams for first team snaps. We have 3 players who are best suited at RT (Blanchard, Thomas, Walker) but one of them will likely play LT. My best guess is Blanchard since he started there last year before injuries limited most of his season. LT = Blanchard LG = Davis C = Williams RG = Seymore RT = Thomas Coach Rodriguez likes to play anywhere from 8-10 linemen each game so I’m sure if this ends up being the actual lineup we’ll still probably see Walker, Lyons, Fox, Burrell, and Fields work in. If James is ready to be the starter at LT like he was in the spring game, that’d give even more options. Perhaps Shor starts to play up to his potential too? We finally have an experienced OL with enough versatility and depth, should a few players get injured for any length of time, it shouldn’t derail performance like it did last season. pdt1420
I doubt we’ll pull it off, but this is the first step towards the self checkout model. I’ve been to quite a few arenas with this setup, including the tourney game, and I really like it for speed.
