Let'sGoZips94 Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 I know Dakich is polarizing - and I don't know if I was naive for thinking otherwise here - but I did not realize refs are paid differently depending on the home team's conference. If that's true, that's one of the biggest flaws in the entire system. 3 Quote

Regarding is other tweet the big reason why power programs stopped going to mid-major schools is money. Not only do they get ticket sales and concessions, but the home team dictates who has broadcasting rights. Now that all these big conferences have their own networks they have to not only fill TV slots for ESPN, Fox, CBS...but also need programing for the SEC, ACC, Big 10 networks. Purdue-Akron might not draw millions of eyeballs, but it will get more viewers than a random Big 10 volleyball or soccer match. Quote
NWAkron Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 (edited) #1 seed Belmont losing badly to #9 Drake in QFs of MVC tournament. Tomorrow is promised to no one. (Drake's won the last 3 MVC tournaments...ready for March) Edited March 6 by NWAkron 1 Quote
kreed5120 Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 It should be noted that Belmont was the only MVC team that would in all likelihood be seeded ahead of Akron had they made the tournament. This increases our odds of backdooring from a 12 seed into an 11. 3 Quote

However, multiple of those 16 teams were going to be in that 10-22 record range with crowds worse than most of the Covid year games. Quote
