clarkwgriswold Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 (edited) Mr. Pinky and his squad head into the JAR Friday night at 9:00 p.m. to face the Zips. The Flushes stand at 19-9 after a rough start. Since the loss to the Zips in January 31st, the Flashes have gone on a 6-1 run, losing only to Miami. They are coming off of a 40-point shellacking of Toledo. I'm not a Mr. Pinky fan but I have to admit his teams seem to peak at the end of the season. VonCameron Davis continues to lead scoring at 15.4 ppg. Jaden Sullinger is second in scoring at 14.3 ppg. Edited February 26 by clarkwgriswold 1 1 Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 Kent hasn't beaten us in football or basketball since March 10th, 2023. Would love to keep that statement true. 1 Quote

Make or break game for John Groce. Quote

Westie Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 Friday has all the makings of an airtight game. Zips have to play smarter. Some of the shots late in the game last night were real brain cramps. Quote

NWAkron Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 Key is Isaiah Gray: if he has 4 or 5 turnovers and is bricking 3s will be tough game 1 Quote
AkronAlumnus Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 Akron being on national TV makes me nervous. Seems the Zips play their worst ball when the lights are brightest. 1 Quote

Davis is one of the best all around players in the MAC. Holding him to 6 pointsin the first game went a long way towards the win. Quote
HoopsFan03 Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 Keeping Lyles and Okonkwo out of foul trouble is my key to the game. Quote

The first Kent game this season was on national TV and so was the first OU game and those were two of our best games. 1 Quote

I wanna see Okonkwo re-assert his control of the paint like he did in our first meeting. I have a feeling Kent's bigs (including VCD) are going to come out and try to punk him. Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted February 28 Author Report Posted February 28 I think Sharron is the type of defender that can give Sullinger a little grief. He can get up on him and steadily harass him all over the court. Torment him and make him use up shot clock. Quote
