21 minutes per game, 6.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg as a sophomore backup.

There's a rumor floating that there's a Big 10 big that could be on the way to the Zips.

The talk in Cleveland by guys who are super closet the program, like Bud, was that a big was headed to Akron. No one would say who, but hey said we are very close to getting him. Stay tuned.

A chance at an actual starter big (combined with a lot of the returners we have) might have @NWAkron willing to stand directly in front of the T-shirt cannon.

If everyone returns, we have two open scholarships with Wilson and Gray leaving.

Okonkwo

Lyles

Harris

N. Johnson

T. Johnson

Scott

Hardman

Young

MMK

Mahaffey

Brisco

Adding another big would definitely make sense. I'd guess at combo guard for the other spot.

But we have two high school seniors coming in next year (PG Tai Perkins & W Josh Henderson). So to add the B1G big would require one of the above to transfer out.

Good call, I saw two open spots on @Illini Zip's most recent grid but that was before Scott and Okonkwo were coming back, so you're correct in that we currently have zero open spots.

Realistically at least 1 person will transfer whether it be to get more playing time, more money, or whatever.

NCAA BB Scholarship limit goes up to 15 next season.

Wow. This is going to bode well for Akron/Groce who proved 1-10 can get ample playing time with room for more. We're going to be a hockey team with line changes every 2 minutes.

I think a 15 man roster will be great for our new system. I hope Wentz and the collective can handle a couple more guys. There has to be a limit to how many players can be regular contributors. So say 10 guys play most of the minutes. 2 or 3 guys get spot minutes or situational minutes for developmental purposes their Freshman year. And the last 2 or 3 are redshirted.

He's being called on to sacrifice for the team. NWAkron, take it like a man!

And if that were the case in 2019 Freeman does not walk on the team.  Leave one spot open for a walk on and call it the Freeman exemption.

The MAC needs new leadership. This is ridiculous. Have some pride man. Or are you being compensated for letting the MAC become a farm system for the power conferences? Inquiring minds want to know.

What, specifically, should the conference leadership do? This is happening all over college basketball, not just the MAC.
