K reed i probably agree with you 90-95 percent of the time, but the taxpayer argument is wrong. The football team does not cost the taxpayer a penny...IMG_4797.thumb.png.0c30c01862e1531eb8d1a000387db306.png

Not directly, but indirectly. The athletic program relies on institutional support to make up any shortfalls in the athletic budget.

If we have to come up with an extra $1 million that wasn't budgeted before where do you think if would come from? If no booster steps up it would likely need to come from the general fund.

They've tried with Ianello...and Brookhart...and Bowden...and Arth...and Motorhead....yet here we are.  Maybe it's not all about the head coach?

I would say we tried with a $60+ million stadium and whatever we spent on the fieldhouse as well. We have poured so much money into football, far more than any other sports, but it continues to be throwing more good money after bad.

That's not true either. 30 percent of all the budget needs of UofA are paid by the taxpayers. If not for the taxpayers, there is no UofA. If not for UofA there is no football team.
