They were also projected to finish 7th in the MAC preseason rankings so it's not like they were all that hyped in the first place. When it's all said and done I expect them to have a top 4-5 seed.

I think they'll settle into the 5-6 seed but then get eliminated on the first day in Cleveland. So, a pretty normal season for them. I do think they're better than recent years but the league is a little deeper this year so the result may end up looking the same as usual.

I agree with this ... in a tournament setting BG's athleticism will negate dead-leg shooting as the games wear on. They will be a better team the second and third night than they will be the first. If they get out of the first round.

If Miami has an undefeated regular season, do they get an at large bid?

There really isn't a test case to say definitively how the committee would handle the situation. Based off their computer numbers and lack of Q1 and Q2 wins it would be a no. At the same time I think it would be hard for them to exclude a team with 1 loss, presuming to a top ~50 Akron.

Miami is ranked 29th or 30th now - if they won out for almost two more months you're talking top 15. Ain't no way they get left out in that scenario

I was referring to NET and other advanced stats the committee uses, not the AP poll. A number of years ago a ranked team, I think it was St. Mary's, was left out of March Madness despite being ranked in the polls. Being ranked isn't a guarantee to making the field.

I understand. I am also saying the committee isn't going to leave out a team ranked in the top 15 of the major polls
