Zips1991 Posted Wednesday at 08:19 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 08:19 PM This was just posted but when I look at the ticket map, it looks pretty normal to me. I understand trying to create urgency but it's obviously manufactured. Quote
Zips1991 Posted Friday at 05:33 PM Author Report Posted Friday at 05:33 PM (edited) Wake had a down year last season (missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010) but still are one of the more successful programs in recent decades with 6 College Cup appearances in the last 20 years. Plus, they play in the best (in my opinion) conference in college soccer. Should be a good challenge for our Zips tonight. (From their website) From 2015-25, Wake Forest has: Collected the most overall wins in NCAA Division I men’s soccer (159) Collected the most home wins in NCAA Division I men’s soccer (117) Collected the most regular season ACC wins (58) Edited Friday at 05:37 PM by Zips1991 Quote

Let'sGoZips94 Posted Friday at 06:17 PM Report Posted Friday at 06:17 PM Big one tonight. While unranked, Wake Forest is one of those "it" schools (in soccer) that are circled on the calendar no matter what their ranking is. This will be a great measuring stick to see where this year's Zips squad is truly at. 1 Quote

Reserved seats are starting to fill in some now that I take a 2nd look at the map today. I'd think it will be bigger than the first two crowds, at least in terms of paid tickets. There was a good student showing against Dayton which might not be matched tonight. Quote

Sadly, seats bought today are just as likely to be WF fans. They travel well. 1 Quote

UAZipster0305 Posted Friday at 11:15 PM Report Posted Friday at 11:15 PM (edited) And of course the stat tracker on gozips.com, linked by the schedule, connects to the Army match, AND my ESPN+ is simultaneously not working. Edited Friday at 11:23 PM by UAZipster0305 Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM (edited) Gotta figure out who is going to put the ball in the back of the net on this team. Also, can a more experienced soccer fan explain why teams don't do a soft pass to an unmarked teammate to rip it on net for free kicks? Blasting balls way over the goal from the top of the box isn't fun. Edited yesterday at 12:51 AM by Let'sGoZips94 Quote
MDZip Posted yesterday at 12:42 AM Report Posted yesterday at 12:42 AM Zips have thoroughly outplayed Wake Forest in this game with nothing to show for it. 2 Quote

Dominant attack by Akron that simply hasn't found the back of the net. Hit a post on one attempt and the goalie made 2 nice saves on another attempt. 1 SOG all game for Wake. 10 minutes to play. Let'sGoZips94 Posted yesterday at 01:09 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:09 AM GOAL!!!!!!!! 7 MINUTES TO GO! Long ball played into the top right side. Goalie spilled it and Testa curled it in back post. 1 Quote
MDZip Posted yesterday at 01:16 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:16 AM Fantastic patience by Testa. Goalie was out too far and Testa just lobbed it over top of him into the goal. Quote
MDZip Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM Three straight wins over ACC teams. Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM Great win by Akron! 3 game winning streak vs the ACC and all-time series lead vs Wake Forest, 5-4-1! 2 Quote
MDZip Posted yesterday at 01:22 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:22 AM Their goalie actually played a great game, but one little mistake... 4 Quote

csims0917 Posted yesterday at 01:28 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:28 AM So glad we avoided another 0-0 tie 1 Quote
TennZip Posted yesterday at 01:41 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:41 AM Akron clearly was the better team. The players battled for every loose ball. I thought that Tyler Morck had a very strong game. Farrell Ngongang really battled in the box and cleared a lot of open space for his teammates. 3 straight shutouts for the back 4 and Brett. The ZIPs should be very proud of the effort and the execution tonight. 3 Quote
UAZipster0305 Posted yesterday at 01:45 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:45 AM If this team can find some consistent goals, they are going to be VERY good! Nice win tonight! 1 Quote
