Captain Kangaroo
The script Akron logo makes me sad. The fact that EMU and WMU’s logos are worse, helps a tiny bit. WMU has that cool-ass Bronco, and chooses to go with a “block W” inside a circle!? Only five home games makes me sad. But three home games in October, with nearby Kent being one of the other two…and then EMU at home the following week helps a lot! 5-of-6 consecutive early fall games at, or within 9 miles of InfoCision! Joe coaching the team makes me happy. For the first time in 4 years, tailgating at InfoCision won’t be akin to putting on a brave face at a family member’s funeral. Go Zips!
KentZip
Glad to see only two weekday games in total - 9/1 opener and 11/8 vs. EMU. May actually be able to make several road trips this year.

GP1
I like it. Only one weeknight game late in the season. I like opening day on a Thursday night before a holiday weekend. Lots of people take that Fri off and will be looking to do something with the family. The only screw job is the last two games on the road, but when you are horrible the prior year you can expect a conference screwing. Still don't like three games on the road in a row early. I think Tennessee is a must. MSU is so close, I expect to hit that one too. Liberty is a maybe. It would be fun, but it's tough to hit all 3 major roadies. At some point the leaves need raked. Stark contrast to last year. I had ZERO desire to travel to Auburn or Ohio State.
GoZips86
5 home games instead of 6 is a bummer. And also, I can accept 1 weekday game per season, but 2? Ugh. I know, I know, the first one is in a holiday weekend, but still though, Saturday home games are my preferred. Oh well. Regardless, I'm ready for the season to begin! I love when the university emails me updates like this. Exciting!
Let'sGoZips94
Not only is KSUcks guaranteed a 1-3 start to the season, but how many injuries occur after the gauntlet of Washington, Oklahoma, and Georgia? Oof. I like the OU, Miami, and NIU schedules. Akron is right there with them for the most appealing schedules. Go Zips!

I will be attending the game at Tennessee. My mother's side of the family is from Tennessee and most of them have gone to UT, so it's a nice excuse to both see the Zips play in Neyland stadium and go visit the old farmstead. It also brings back good memories of a previously 1-11 Zips football team with a new head coach tied with an SEC team at halftime. The hopium is high that we will see that again. 😈

Quentin Hines' long TD run and Avis Commack's pick 6 were two awesome plays. Hoping I can make at least one of Tenn or MSU.
ZippyRulz
I look forward to EMU and CMU. There's a lot of talk in the blabosphere about eliminating conference divisions. I could do without the same routine of OU / Miami / BG year in and year out. Keep Can('t/ada) as rivals.

I wouldn't want to lose the annual Buffalo game, and especially the annual OU game. Those have blossomed into intense rivalries. From an entertainment perspective, we're fortunate to have 3 intense rivalries every year. I'd love to add Toledo to the schedule every year. We don't like each other and often only play once a year in basketball and not at all in football. Natural rivalry right there. GJGood
Has anyone talked to Coach JoMo about his views on Akron’s scheduling in the future. Does he like a FCS opponent every year? How many “pay day” games would be ideal? Will there be an emphasis on getting home and home series’ with other Group of Five programs? Does he think long cross country road trips build team chemistry or would he prefer a more regional approach? How possible does he think it would be to get Power Five schools to regularly visit InfoCision?

This graphic is the perfect example of why the script Akron doesn't work. Not only is it one of the worst shown, but it is practically unreadable when shown at a smaller size. Exactly what happens on TV and schedule graphics. Also strange to see so many Big Ten teams schedule games against the MAC. I've always heard from those fans that the SEC is overrated because they schedule a bunch of weak non-conference games.

I stepped up finally with the news of the Moorhead hire. Don't believe I've heard anything since the initial deposit though. Plan to do the same for the bball program as well actually due to their success. Doubt I'll end up doing anything more than GA for the time being due to it just being tough to make many of the games in person, but I figure at least it shows support 🤷♂️ For whatever reason, I feel the university deserves my $$ much more than the Browns, especially after the past week. I'm leaning heavily on coming back into the fold. Waiting and hoping that UA does something for those of us with small children. Would love something similar to the family plans they used to market for basketball. Two adult tickets and two child tickets for the season, for a slight discount over what 4 GA season tickets would cost, especially with a Thursday and Tuesday games representing 40% of the schedule.

I am very disappointed from the several prior posts. As I posted earlier, when Coach JoeMo was hired I re-upped my season football tix and I paid on the spot. The ticket office said I could wait until June to pay like every year, but I said that I would pay at that time and my credit card was charged and I paid. Now, I am seeing some allegedly serious posters and fans who claim to be huge Zip fans are now considering buying tickets. So Sad!! In Joe we Trust!!!! That could effect everyone differently. I'm not in the business of spending other people's money. We have a great community on ZipsNation and there is tangible excitement with Zips athletics. Attendance will be just fine.
