I would bet $5,000 that in the past 3 years, at least one starting player on the football team or MBB team has bet on a game they were playing in using a gambling app. It's too easy to get away with if you do it in small numbers.

I was referring to NET and other advanced stats the committee uses, not the AP poll. A number of years ago a ranked team, I think it was St. Mary's, was left out of March Madness despite being ranked in the polls. Being ranked isn't a guarantee to making the field.
