  2. Freeman had a chance to win the game against his old team the Pacers in overtime but the shot did not fall. https://sports.yahoo.com/video/minnesota-timberwolves-vs-indiana-pacers-030719576.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall
  3. The through ball by the Cornell player was one of the prettiest passes I've ever seen in a soccer match. Chest-high bullet volley that split the Akron defenders to give the Cornell attacker the advantage. What a save by Mitch to prevent that from being the highlight of the year for Cornell.
  4. Tuesday October 7th Number 2 Vermont traveled to Harvard and the 2 teams ended in a 0-0 result. Harvard has not had a strong year. They are 0-2 in the Ivy League and their overall record is 3-4-3 #14 Georgetown hosted Denver. Denver won 2-1. Denver came into tonight's match with 5 wins and 6 losses. Number 21 Seton Hall pounded Fla. International 5-0. Zips game at Seton Hall on Friday October 17...will be huge if the Zips want to make the Big East Tournament. Villanova got a 1-0 home win over NJIT. DePaul traveled to Bradley and the two teams battled to a 2-2 draw. Butler got a 2-1 road win over Oakland. Cleveland State with a 1-0 home win over Bowling Green. Xavier travled down I-75...and got a 2-0 win at Wright State.
  5. Ya gotta hand it to them. EMU has some nice facilities. Over the years they are pouring more and more money into the athletics program. That being said they still suck in MBB.
  6. As I said, expect goals in this match. 🀣
  7. Great PK save by Mitch Budler...late in the 2nd half.
  8. Just about to post this about Evan. I think this is an extremely good sign. I think Evan has the chance to be glue who holds the team together
  9. Don't know if Kent will be there for the long haul -- too many freshmen and backcourt is suspect -- but they will be a tough out by the end of the season, no matter what. They really haven't spent much on transfers, although they have a few. Seems they have put more resources into freshmen, a couple with some A-10 type pedigree. The trick will be keeping them - if they are as good as recruitniks say. I think UMass is the team to watch. More size than any MAC team, which may offset the 3-point shooting from Akron and Miami. Anxious to see what they really look like. Also, while not a contender, hearing a lot of really good things about Central Michigan as a team to keep an eye on. After that, the usual suspects.
  10. They're still the Mets.

  12. So you’re saying it’s Yankees/Red Sox?
  13. It pains me to say it, but history tells us PCCC will be in the mix. The school and boosters have committed money to Mr. Pinky so they'll be around.
  14. Let’s go!!!! So pumped to see what these guys can do. I feel like it is a 2 horse race with us and Miami. Is anyone else got the fire power to compete with us and Miami?
  15. Jordan Gant > Jordon Simmons (9 carries for 33 yards on the season...Georgia State is 1-4)
  16. Akron is in the receiving votes section of this week's coaches poll. Strangely, Cornell has fallen out of the receiving votes section and is not listed at all despite two convincing wins last week. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/rankings/college-rankings/ncaa-di-men/
  17. The more talented you are the more people are willing to put up with. It's pretty much too across all levels of sports. If a player is All-MAC caliber a coach is going to give him a longer leash than if he's a second string depth piece.
  18. Let's get this season started with thoughts of what's known, and what's to come. That 24-25 Post Mortem is hopefully done.
  19. I know of an area college coach who had a player come to him after the season and tell him he was considering entering the portal. The coach apparently thought this was a ploy by the kid to get more love and be asked to stay. He told the kid he'd recruited him once, wasn't planning to do it again and showed him the door. LOL.
  20. Similar to St. Johns, we've never defeated Cornell. We've lost 3-2 in OT both times we have played them, both at home. That feels ominous, but I'm ready to be pleasantly surprised. Go Zips!
  21. Missed this one while I was there recently but I did find this. Went in to talk to the shop owner and his first question was "Are you from Ohio?" 🀣
  22. Zips first Homecoming win since 2017? First back-to-back home wins since 2017? Zips are rollin'! πŸ™‚ Miami always seems to beat the Zips by playing simple, straightforward, mistake-free football. And the Zips historically hand them the game with penalties and turnovers. I predict the Zips win if Finley tosses zero INT's. We'll lose by 7 points for every INT he tosses.
  23. Sometimes you're happy when a player hits the portal. They did you a favor. Sometimes a good player with delusions of grandeur exhibits a low level of grace upon their departure. You don't want that kind of player back. Coaches are allowed to hold grudges when a player unceremoniously bolts for greener pastures. And the portal is filled with MAC-capable players. So if you leave, you accept the fact there could be a new kid in town that's assigned your jersey number the following week. So like its been said...it all depends upon the situation. Maybe Summers gets his scholarship back next semester? He seems like a bit of a goofball, but overall he's producing.
