  1. Past hour
  2. And now #1 and defending National Champion Vermont is out, losing to Hofstra at home in OT.
  3. I believe the ACE fund was passed in regards to the settlement that allows schools to pay players directly. I understand it's help to pay for that. I think Zips circle is more geared towards funding operatings.
  4. Root against Bryant too. I'd love to have the winner of Seton Hall and St. Louis at home for a chance to go to the College Cup!
  5. Hofstra takes down Vermont in OT. Didn’t realize it was golden goal wow
  6. They say ‘just received’ but likely had this tee’d up along with the communication to build momentum. I’d be shocked if a letter alone led to the gift but as folks have said it’s something and a start. Did they do away with the Zips circle or whatever these fund was for large donations?
  7. Root against Princeton. If they lose we get another home game
  8. Today
  9. Indiana is out. They lose 1-0 at home to St. Louis.
  10. This is why I do think some of the transfer stuff will kinda even out and calm down. If guys keep transferring and basically going AWOL, SOME of the transferring will slow down.
  11. No, but I think Mrs. GP1, the luckiest woman in the world, is happy about it.
  12. 8-3-5 (W-L-T) all-time against ND. We owe them one from the 2002 NCAAT 3-1 loss they gave us in Indiana. I like the symmetry in a 3-1 win today at home. Zips come prepared and dominate.
  13. "Happy to report we just received a $100k gift from an incredible @uakronalumni donor to support football recruiting operations and the ACE Fund!!"
  14. Under KD we beat both Temple and Florida State in the post-season NIT, but in different seasons. I do not know the years though. In the Iona preview on gozips.com there is an excellent history of MBB's performance in mid-season tournaments. To my surprise, we have won several. It is under the "Regular Season Tournaments" heading. https://gozips.com/news/2025/11/20/mens-basketball-zips-begin-paradise-jam-with-iona-on-friday
  15. And you're sure they're not just trying to keep you away? 😉😂
  16. Was it an NIL contribution directed to players or directed to the recruiting budget so coaches can go find players? $100k for recruiting seems like a lot. My guess is it takes much more to have a really good recruiting budget. My company spends over $60,000 a year for my travel expenses. To hire at least one person would easily absorb the entire amount. Athletic recruiters must travel a lot for the program to have success. Akron needs muh more money just for recruiting alone.
  17. For those wondering, Evansville lost by 31 to Purdue. But their 2 starting bigs still scored 15 and 14 points against Purdue’s bigs.
  18. Which one? The letter about looking to next season or the communication about the $100K NIL contribution? As for the first, I didn't read anything into it as it was exactly what I would expect him to say. It didn't clarify anything for me. As for the second, it's a good start.
  19. Evansville comes into tonight's game at 4-3 with wins against Oregon State, Henderson State, Calumet College of St. Joseph and Oakland City. They've lost to Purdue, Middle Tennessee and UT-Arlington. Evansville appears to have some talented bigs. 6'10" Australian junior forward Joshua Hughes leads the team in scoring and rebounding averaging 13.2 ppg and 7 rpg. 6'10" Butler transfer senior forward Connor Turnbull contributes 12.8 ppg and 4 rpg. 6'9" senior forward Miami and St. Louis transfer AJ Casey adds 8 ppg and 5.3 rpg.
