  1. Today
  2. Best guess is it was Monday at the latest. In the Monday episode there was a comment about this episode as if it had already been filmed.
  3. I think Joe Akron doesn't know what to think because he doesn't really follow the team closely enough. If Joe Akron is treated to an exciting game with maybe a last second win for the Zips, he might come to another game. I don't think most MAC fans care about this game, but they should. How the league plays against like opponents is important.
  4. Does anyone have any insight into what day this was filmed?
  5. Biggest game in about eight years for Joe Akron. Don't blow it...Joe! 😁
  6. 6'4" G from Ben Davis HS in Indiana. If I'm not mistaken, it's one of the bigger and better athletic high schools in the state, most recently winning a state title in 2023 for boys' basketball (won the football state title in the same year). No idea on his other offers.
  7. Semaj Beals is still in high school. The Johnson kid from Syracuse will play the Tahj role this year I believe, at least at QB. Don’t know if he’ll be lined up at a skill position though lol
  8. Akron number one in the East Region. 😆 Have we been in the East since joining the Big "East"? I'd prefer being compared to B1G "Midwest" schools. But call me #OldSkool!
  9. I wouldn't be bragging about being in Atlanta Georgia, but you do you.
  10. I know. I'm looking forward to tomorrow while at the same time having great evening in Buckhead.
  11. I don't believe the coaches are permitted to publicly comment on any recruit (by name) until they officially sign.
  12. Just watched the Zips weekly coaches show. No mention of Semaj Beals. He just committed at the beginning of August. Is he gone already?? Thought his size and speed would be a good replacement for Tahj
  13. The Too-Cowardly-To-Admit-When-He's-Wrong award? You are correct.
  14. Reading comprehension is a thing ... I was using the example given by GP1 where he said "Does anyone really believe someone making $200,000 in 1954 was only taking home $18,000"; I was demonstrating that his derisive comment demonstrates he has no idea what he's talking about. But to answer your question, I personally define "wealthy" as top-20% of the percentile income of an area/country. So if you're in the top-20% you are, indeed, wealthy. It's the most logical way for analysis; five categories of 20% of the distributions of income that can be compared to each other.
  15. You should probably admit that you were demonstrated to be wrong on your point, instead of pontificating some boilerplate, generic nonsense. Have the integrity to admit when someone demonstrates something you said is wrong. It's the first level of intellectual integrity and courage. You also must be living under a rock if you think most people share in your opinion that this is "the greatest day in American history" and that Tomorrow will be better. Just about nobody believes that, because all we're doing is goosestepping backwards, erasing all the gains made over the past 70-years in just about everything. Goodness, you're the first one to complain about the current state of college athletics, and you're going to make that statement with a straight face? LoL
  16. I mean this is part of the decay of American society. Blow off good, fact-based points because they're inconvenient for you and sssshhh people because you just want to watch Football. Do better. Also, nobody asked you to read the reply; but you could have called out GP1 for his commentary, or the other posters for theirs...instead you target mine for the derision. Curious about the hypocrisy... this is a post-thread about cuts at the University of Akron because of dire financial circumstances, this is exactly the type of conversation that should be taking place in this thread.

  19. This is the biggest difference between Akron and a school like Wyoming. We have Ohio State less than 2 hours down the road, Cleveland State, Kent State, and Youngstown State all within an hour, and Toledo, Bowling Green, Miami OH, Cincinnati, and Ohio all in the state as public DI universities. This doesn't even include Dayton and Xavier as private but popular institutions in the state as well. The trade off is we have the pro sports - Browns, Cavs, and Guardians - 45 minutes north of Akron, so that's cool. However, all of this takes away from Akron, and it sucks to an extent. The War looks beautiful (and packed).
  20. Jashawn Ladd has committed to Akron per his Instagram.
  21. The wife of a guy I work with graduated from UW in the mid 80s and was a cheerleader. She still looks good even though she's lived in the greater Phoenix area since then and has a ton of freckles on her cleavage like aging Arizona women get. In any event, she goes back every year for homecoming and still loves it.
  22. Usually around 20,000 give or take a couple of thousand either way. When Wyoming hosted Texas and Nebraska a few years back they added 10,00 temporary seats to handle the Longhorn and Cornhusker faithful. War Memorial Stadium's capacity has been reduced to 25,000 something, down from 29,000 with the recent renovations. "The War", as we call it, had a peak of 32,000 seats 20 years ago or so, but the number has steadily been reduced with each renovation. Given that the State of Wyoming's population is listed at 576,851 according to the 2020 Census, I think they've right sized the War. UW is the only 4-year institution of higher education in the state so it's facilities are top notch because they don''t have to compete with another state sponsored university. The latest renovations to the "War"
  23. Eastern Michigan beat Wyoming both times they've played.
  24. Listen up Zips Fans: I do NOT want to pull a Jimmy Johnson on this one. However, THIS is the Game, IMHO will decide de the Season. As a Joe Akron, is this accurate? As a MAC fan, will this set the pace? Your thoughts below......
