I haven't seen anything but I wouldn't mind that time, there would be more people watching than during the workday. Although it seems late for a game being played in Tampa. I would think games further west would tip off that late.

Yes, they wear OSU gear, but they're mainly OSU football fans. 99% of them don't follow OSU basketball. I wouldn't be surprised if many are UNC or Duke bandwagon fans for hoops.

It's not necessarily that - for example, people wear OSU stuff to Akron games and even the majority of alums follow OSU more than UA for a litany of reasons. I'd like to get to a culture like Dayton's where everything is about UD. I keep saying UD because I think they're the only Ohio university to push a lot of OSU influence away. Typo:

I don't feel OSU basketball has the monopoly that OSU football has in NEO. Most of this area tunes out college basketball and don't really follow it until March. Maybe watched 1-2 OSU basketball games all year. For that reason I feel it's easier to convert them. Just need to make them care in the first place.

That was the toughest road we've ever had. Was messaging with someone close to the program and they agreed. MAC hasn't been this deep in a long time. Buffalo was probably a top 3-4 team if healthy and Kent in the semis is never easy.

Two more: 4) We need to chip away at the OSU-first mindset across NEO and keep building to a culture where Akron hoops are a mainstay - kind of like Dayton, where Dayton basketball is the show and everything OSU is secondary. 5) Building on that w need better coverage/press around the team to build excitement. Everything should be UA this is NEO, not Central Ohio.

3 things. 1) The MAC does the conference no favors by having the conference schedule be on Tuesdays with big games flexed to Friday nights. Both days are boys high school basketball game nights in Ohio. Seeds 1-6 this year were all the Ohio schools, meaning a good chunk of their prospective attendance is being eliminated during the regular season. 2) We need to find the money for a JAR renovation. I know Kaulig is mainly on the football side, but he could really plant his flag at the University and help both basketball and football by getting naming rights on both the JAR and Info. 3) Home opponents need to be better.
