  2. I wouldn't get caught up in trying to keep up with the Jones's. Infocision has financial hamstrung the football department. If you add in what we're spending on the stadium to what we're spending on everything else football related (coach, staff, recruiting, etc) we're near the top of the MAC. The problem is we can't both make debt service payments on the stadium while still having an upper tier G5 budget. That's why we just lost an assistant to Marshall. IMO NIL is a great equalizer for a program like Akron. Facility upgrades are immensely costly and don't correlate directly to success. Two of our G5 peers in the Sun Belt built new arenas in the last 5 years. This season they went a combined 15-21 in conference play. What matters for success and notoriety is players. We already have the training facility and fantastic locker rooms that are in the upper echelon of the MAC. IMO every dollar you spend in NIL equates to $10, $20, maybe more in facilities. You get a greater ROI in NIL.
  3. With WMU & Miami both building new arenas, CMU, Kent, and Akron will be the only schools left in the MAC using glorified high school gyms as arenas.
  4. Today
  5. I think Groce will survive financially without it.
  6. robert morris and detroit remain in horizon league tournament
  7. I just read Groce's contract and if he makes that shot, Groce gets a $37,000 bonus for being champions of the MAC.
  8. They were ~.500 when the tourney began. They have over 20 wins now lol.
  9. Anyone know what section Zips fans will be in Thursday?
  10. What's crazy given the SunBelts absurd bracket is Georgia Southern has won 5 games in 5 days, which the announcers said has never been done before. They still need 1 more win to advance to the tournament.
  11. Marshall just lost to 10 seed Georgia Southern. UNCG lost to Furman earlier. Only Wright State remains as a potential conference champion in their OOC. They play Northern Kentucky tomorrow for the title. Edit: Technically Arkansas Pine Bluff is still in their conference tourney. Long shot to win it all.
  12. Well, looking back through my email now and I'm not even seeing that. Perhaps my order didn't go through 😅
  13. I also remember someone saying that Steele wouldn’t do much at Miami.
  14. I looked back and did not see any shipping notification. In both instances, I only received an order confirmation email.
  15. When you've ordered in the past, did you receive an email and/or tracking number when your order was shipped?
  16. Nobody is going to want a 59 year old Frank Martin who's gone 63-62 at UMass.
  17. I don’t think we have anything to worry about with other candidates in the mix. Groce only had success against PCCC Steele-L Senderhoff-WW Jones(Yale)-L Cross(Troy)-L Miller(Murray St)-L
  18. I think UMass fans would be thrilled if Frank Martin went to BC. Frank is by far the highest paid coach in the MAC and UMass has more NIL than any MAC team, but the best he can do is an 8th place finish.
  19. Hmmmmmm….Boston College open GA Tech open. ACC schools. K-State??? BC has poached MAC coaches in the past. Frank Martin to BC maybe???
  20. Stefan is starting for Austin FC II this evening. Game is on YouTube…
  21. I love the men's soccer program and they've had great success, But when you win your conference title 12 times in 13 years, and have sent a number of swimmers to the NCAA meets over that time I might have to lean towards swimming as well.
  22. Yesterday
  23. MMK is a great free throw shooter he has a good shot. and he had a nice Drive vs NUI. I am on board. He has a chance to be Evan replacement! That is a good call. Anyone with his drive and work ethic can do anything if he puts his mind to it!

  25. As for the bigs we need a starting center. I would love an Amani Clone. Our current bigs don’t have it. But I think they are all viable back up big! Marvin: has heart, rebounding and is improving every game. But is 6’6 and can’t be a starter. Great back up for next season. Barre: has size and athleticism, but is a terrible rebounder and poor hands. He does have decent rim protection. He could improve but that is a risky gamble. Briscoe: has the size and weight. But strength and confidence needs to improve. He can either stay in the program and keep working or transfer if he is tired of waiting.
  26. Not sure MMK isn't the replacement for Evan. Similar height, high motor, good head on his shoulders, etc. Pack on some muscle, keep improving the offensive skills, and he's almost a carbon copy.
