  1. Past hour
  2. I won't be able to attend due to a work trip. So, if anyone would like a free general admission ticket, DM me and I'll get it to you.
  3. No room? Is someone else playing at the Info on Saturday?
  4. And every single fan base in the country is telling their school/conference that they want Saturday games, too. The reality is there is only so much room for football on a Saturday and it's largely reserved for the P4s and top G5 conference(s). Unless the MAC decides to get creative and move their TV deal to a more unique platform (Roku, AppleTV, regular YouTube, etc.), it's worth conserving the energy instead of beating a dead horse. The bigger issue is too many MAC programs sucking rather than when the games are played.
  5. This is what the MAC schools trying to get any local interest really have to harp on with this next TV deal. OK, sure they'll lose a few bucks from ESPN by getting rid of the Tuesday games...but even a Saturday at 30 degrees with snow flurries would have an OK crowd.
  6. Can the Zips please go out and just step on their necks. Like last year without the early PCCC TD.
  7. Today
  8. For those without ESPN now thanks to Mickey Mouse's greed, FuboTV has a 5 day free trial. You'll need the Elite package for ESPNU, and you can cancel after the game without being charged. However, unlike many free trials, cancelling right after signing up will terminate the trial immediately so make sure you set a reminder for Wednesday/Thursday/Friday.
  9. Saturday looks like a nice day for a game.
  10. The Kent QB is a NE Ohio kid. Our QB is from Phoenix...NC State...California. It will be interesting to see how they handles the elements tomorrow. Joe Akron might have ventured out if we'd have caught a break in the weather. But it looks like he and Flo will watch on TV, and it will be Family & Friends Only to watch the Zips and Flashes.
  11. The AD probably already has the list. The walking away part may be implied.
  12. This post nails it. Purdue has and always will lack athleticism should they continue to clog the lane with unathletic giants. Barre will be used to eat fouls I presume, and I think we'll see a lot of Barre vs PSUS to get him more acclimated to what we'll need from him vs Purdue. The same can be said for Brisco as well. Purdue will probably attack inside often, so we'll be rotating the front court shifts often to keep fresh legs and limited foul trouble. Amani and Evan need to be strong and confident. Dribble drives will be our best friend whether it leads to a kick out 3 or attacking the basket. Getting their giants in foul trouble would be nice. This is a March-type game and guards win in March. Ultimately that's what will dictate our success. Do our guards protect the ball, knock down ships, and facilitate well? Lastly - Big Stank is our not-so-secret weapon. He's a matchup nightmare and showed a lot if ability to get to the hoop and make the right decision vs Princeton. Need him to be big. I cannot wait for this one. We are playing with house money with the start we've had so far to the season.
  13. I'm sorry @zippy5. 😅 Wasn't trying to be a Kent; I loathe the "higher education" setup in its current state.
  14. Joe would kill for only one hand to be tied behind his back.
  15. WVA dropped from 12 to 15......after winning on PK's against Old Dominion Stanford lost Sunday night 1-0 to SMU (while the game was going on, Stanford sat at 10 in RPI and SMU was at 21 in RPI) as of 10:30 Sunday night, SMU(after the win) jumped all the way to number 10 in RPI Stanford, which was at #9 on Saturday night....dropped to #11 on Sunday night NC State also lost on Sunday night. They got roughed up 3-0 by Syracuse in the ACC quarterfinals as of 10:30 Sunday night, NC State is #13 in RPI and Syracuse jumped all the way up to #30 in RPI as of 10:30......Sunday Night.... the Mighty ZIPS are #9 in RPI
  16. At least we played UAB close enough to get Dilfer fired.
  17. With a $2M NIL budget, UMass should at least be able to win a few MAC games.
  18. She and her husband purchase 4 seats on the floor. She uses one of the seats for her purse. Celebrities.
  19. Purdue’s system has a weakness and it’s athleticism. When they lost to a 16 seed with Zach Edey I believe FDU’s Center was 6’7. I think you beat them with athletic pressure and hope you shoot better than them. still a long shot to win. But I like this match up more than Arizona last year.
  20. I plan to watch that Purdue vs Alabama game and do a little scouting. I’m really excited to see how we choose to match up with them. Do we put in Barre to lean on their big centers or do we play our regular, smaller lineup and try to run on them.
  21. I think it’s really going to be interesting at the end of the season when Joe meets with the AD. I really believe that Joe is going to have a list of changes that need to be made to this program or he will walk away. This late season success will only empower him more. Throughout the year he has been dropping little nuggets about his dissatisfaction with the school’s commitment (financially and structurally) to the program. I think he feels that he is trying to build a program with one hand tied behind his back. We will see.
  22. Good preview of the game https://akronzippedup.substack.com/p/game-11-preview-kent-state-golden?utm_medium=ios
  23. Yesterday
  24. Sunday November 9th afternoon games in a very sparsely attended Missouri Valley conference quarterfinal game 6 seed Western Michigan got a 2-0 win at 3 seed Northern Illinois Sunbelt Conference quarterfinal West Virginia was less than impressive at home. They battled 7 seed Old Dominion to a 2-2 draw. West Virginia advances to the semis with a 5-4 win in PK's Old Dominion finishes the year with a record of 5-5-7. WVA will play the winner of Marshall vs. Georgia State in the semis.
