Early Football Previews and Predictions: Game Three at UAB
catdaddyp replied to catdaddyp's topic in Akron Zips Football
UAB/Navy on a delay, but UAB’s offense looks legit. Their defense… not so much. -
the Wyoming shutout streak has ended at 5 quarters, 4 of which were against us.
-
It's almost to half-time and Wyoming is currently tied 7-7 to UNI (a team that was 3-7 last year in the FCS)

Great home game and crowd for a Saturday afternoon in Athens for the Bobcats against WVU, and it is a competitive game. Wish we had such things!

For me, Caleb Borneo was MOM. Scoring twice is (obviously) huge, but Borneo was also instrumental in the linking play through our midfield. What a comeback story for this guy! Hopefully, he continues his current trajectory. Remi Agunbiade completely changed the match when he entered late in the 1st half. Buckeyes could not contain him. Toward the end, OSU Defense began to look fearful. As previously mentioned, Jose Pedro was fantastic in both defending the flank and contributing passing into Offense. He needs to keep shooting, as unlikely as that sounds when referring to a Fullback. Judging from the room they afford him, opposing Defenses evidently do not believe Jose can score. He should prove them wrong. Ashton Kamdem was a monster on our left flank. Somebody check me on this, but I think Kamdem drew 3 OSU yellow cards. He is probably really sore today. Side note: Kamdem is the only truly ambidextrous field player we have. Mitch Budler also appears to be ambidextrous. What can I say that has not already been said? Five matches; Zer0 goals allowed. None will be surprised when Budler's name goes up on Stu Parry's wall.

They'd find a way to lose money.

The Virginia stadium is sitting empty today whereas both stadiums could be relatively full. Ticket revenue lost. You're not thinking like a patriotic capitalist.

Thanks for providing these charts Catdaddy. I find them very interesting. Like you said they are as objective as you can get in this day and age. It I'll be fun to compare them as the season goes on. While I feel we had a dismal start, there are many more games ahead of us and many more chances to develop this team. As I look at it we will be as good as Finley goes. So far we are lousy.

The NC State vs Virginia game is really good. Two ACC school playing a non conference game. I love the idea. Are the athletes students alumni fans and general community getting more out of this game or NCSU vs Joe Blow G5 school?

thanks i wasn't sure where it was from. it's very easy to read. i like it. this was the first time i looked at PFF. i was confused at first because i did not know about the snap minimum count. i like being able to see what a completely independent rating system scores them as.
-
I created the depth chart myself by using PFF and what I saw during the game. Although, I only listed a player in one position. For example, even though M. Johnson played multiple positions on offense, I only listed him once. PFF isn’t always correct in their ratings or positions played, but it’s the best resource I know of, especially when I’ve made the decision to not go back and rewatch the game. Patrick ended up being the highest rated player on offense with Summers the highest rated on defense. PFF will go back in and revise their ratings later in the week.

where did u get that depth chart from? i'd like to visit that site. PFF had mcmanus the highest rated player for the team. PFF had the defensive line at: Dall 69.4 Hull 57.8 Laventure 65.3 Durham 54.5 mixon 67.1 murphy 62.2 Cheatom 80.2 d frazier 59.4 j frazier 38.6 duncan 49.9

Match 5 - Ohio State
Let'sGoZips94 replied to csims0917's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
They were too busy trying to run cover for their precious P4 Suckeyes. As the game wore on, the realization that Akron is a more dominant soccer program than Ohio State really became evident in their tone and commentary. It was Louvre worthy. -

The Ohio State announcers did not do a very good job of announcing when subs were made. Tyler Morck and Thomas O' Rourke both played over 50 minutes in the game. I hope that Matthew Paiva's health is OK. He has been fantastic this year. Paiva came out of the game at the midpoint of the first half and only played 36 minutes in the game.

Free admission! Did they announce attendance? What is your guess at the number at Owens Stadium?
-
Pretend? It has been, is now, and will forever be a ZERO! 😃 (Love this by the way! Well-played!)
