  1. Past hour
  2. We haven't really struggled with the press this year until that Buffalo game, and I think the biggest factor was out 25 pt lead. We got complacent and lazy due to comfortability. I don't foresee an unathletic Kent press giving Akron many troubles should they choose to do so. In fact, I think if Kent presses for any lengthy period this game, Akron wins by double digits fairly easily due to all the easy points that will come from the 3 on 2s and 2 on 1s.
  3. My Kent friend despises him it’s always hilarious seeing him react to Magnus with the ball
  4. Today
  5. I'll be interested to see if Kent tries to use the press early seeing how badly we struggled with it against UB.
  6. Game day! This game is always a dog fight. Because Pccc mucks it up. I imagine both teams shoot better. Last game Gillespie and Lyles were no factors due to constant foul trouble. I think that goes in our favor as if the refs swallow the whistle that hurts us. With Whaley back we have to push the ball and create turnovers. Between Scott, young, Hardman and Johnson we need someone to go 4-5 from three.
  7. I've seen a lot of online pushback against losing the field where they want to put the new arena. I've never been to Miami's campus so I have no idea, but here is the essential back-and-forth:
  8. I'd be bummed to see us leave Nike, I absolutely love Nike gear and its quality. I'd rather them focus on getting out of whatever nonsensical Barnes and Noble contract they have that prevents them from selling a better selection of items than move away from Nike.
  9. I watched it tonight on ESPN+ for about an hour and it did appear like the crowd was having a great time.
  10. Zips favored by 3.5 with a O/U of 164.5
  11. Surprise surprise the zips are leading the MAC championships this weekend. I went to the event in 2019 when it was last in Akron and it was a blast. I plan on making it out on Saturday for the final session
  12. Yesterday
  13. It seems to be a better path to MLS than USL if that NEXT Pro team has an MLS affiliate; a player who plays well has the potential for recommendation to be picked up by the MLS club.
  14. I peaked over at Miami's forum today. Apparently they only have $450K in donations committed to this project. That means of the $281M projected cost as of today $280M would would have to be financed. To be fair I imagine they will get some money from naming rights and some more donations will come in, but I don't know how this could be put up for a vote with such a low commitment. My only guess is they're trying to rush this project along to capitalize off the excitement surrounding the program. I know this new arena has been in planning for many months, but I doubt it would be put up for a vote at this stage if they were sitting at 18-10 instead of 28-0.
  15. Nike basketball shoes are far superior. That's one of the many reasons Kent still sucks.
  16. Tbh I don't really think it would. I'd think most players today probably care about NIL, PT and geographic location. The venue would be toward the bottom of my priorities at least. On the flip side - even if the state matches some, Miami still has to foot a good amount and that's less $$ for what matters
  17. Committing this amount of capital based on a run that is inflated by an incredibly weak schedule with a coach that has yet to sign the contract extension offer is malpractice. Now, will something like this attract more talent, top coaches, etc. should there be turnover? Maybe, but as fast as it has been built, it can all come crashing down in the blink of an eye. I want nothing more than to beat them in Cleveland and see them either lose in Dayton or miss the Dance altogether. The whole thing is a sick joke that Ohio taxpayers are the butt of.
  18. Yes let them waste their money. We'll save ours for NIL. 💯
  19. Maybe they will have another surplus sale if they switch brands again. Most of my Zips merch was purchased at the one they had when they left Adidas.
  20. Are you implying that one of the richest athletes in the country, who doesn't donate any money to his hometown college, doesn't care about the college? Hard to believe! 🤣
  21. Other than a few sneakers, everything at UA associated with Lebron is a farce. Time to move on to a better deal.
  22. There are guys younger than him signing professional contracts in baseball and hockey. They almost all have lawyers/agents. Who is reading these contracts for these players? If this is true, I hope Cincy gets every cent.
  23. This is cool, definitely will check them out now.
  24. You're welcome haha. You're absolutely right but this is technically being fiscally responsible for the few people it enriches. Government and banks exist nowadays in order to use your money to enrich themselves. Rules for thee but not for me.
  25. Speaking of Toledo, they seem to have a nice arena. But again, I've never been there. Looks nice on TV though.
  26. This gave me a good chuckle as I can see the comparison, thank you! I'm just more tired of seeing Ohioans hard earned dollars going to waste because of vanity projects. We need fiscal responsibility.
