The guy who probably would have gotten my vote is Sayles. Unfortunately his injury sidelined him just as he was really starting to make his presence shown. With that said, Utomi has shown the most improvement. Last year he was a bit player but this year he has been asked to do so much more and responded well.3 points

Take notes Blue & Gold for future use. There is a good chance a recruit is with them. Groce has a history of making the local "waffle house" a part of his recruiting routine. It's time to get to know somebody on staff at the Akron Family Restaurant.2 points

I'll be there, and with a couple game-beers in my belly for the first time in a while (thanks to you, noon and 2 pm start times). I'll be as obnoxious and loud as possible, and we'll see if it helps. It would be great for the Zips to pull out this win. They've battled their asses off for the past month. That hard work has to pay off sometime. No better time than tonight against Kent!2 points

I concur on all points. It even goes beyond that. You'll even see 3 or as many as 4 guards on the floor sometimes. After seeing a "3" playing post for us so often this year, I don't know why some people continue to get hung up on plugging guys into each of the traditional 1-5 spots. Not in the MAC. Coaches are going to put the guys on the floor who they think can win basketball games.2 points

”Who are these guys?!” was the question I kept asking myself regarding The University of Akron’s 2018 Football Recruiting Class. The local newspapers gave Akron’s February 7th, 2018 National Signing Day virtually no print space. Northeast Ohio television stations all but ignored the event. And the various internet recruiting websites again focused their columns on the Power 5 programs. Aside from the noble efforts of a couple local AM radio sports talk personalities, the Zips signing day coverage fell well short of what a real fan wanted to learn about the class, and certainly beneath the coverage it merited. 2018 has a chance to be a great year for Zips football, and the kids bound to these 25 letters of intent have some really interesting storylines. So I thought I would head down to the Zips football offices and see if Head Coach Terry Bowden would give me a little time to discuss the class. Here’s what he had to say. E was on a nice track, same with Sayles. I'd probably go with Cotton.. He didn't look much like he belonged at first and came into his own as the year went. Now if he could just stay healthy and out of trouble1 point

Is Kwad the fastest player in college football? After two seasons of middling around on the football field despite success in track, Smith showed out, catching 34 balls for 726 yards and seven touchdowns in 2017. He averaged 21.4 yards per catch a season ago, after averaging 24.5 on six catches as a sophomore. A larger sample set last year showed Smith can be dynamic when somebody gets him the ball. He's the fastest player in the MAC and one of the speediest in the country.1 point

Patton was a player that seemed to have a great understanding of his role and played it pretty well IMO. He seemed to score efficiently when he did shoot, played solid D, and rebounded well for a guy his size. He has the 2nd best shooting % on the team (behind Parrish) for non- exclusive post players. I'm absolutely not ready to give up on him. I'd like to see him play more aggressive on the offensive end going forward to see his true potential. The thing is, is there going to be room on the team for another player to have that style of play when you're considering Jimond, Utomi, Cotton, Jackson, and Hester should be in line for a lot of shots next year. Probably throw Parrish in there too. I think he would be a good candidate for a redshirt next year.1 point

I think he's done a fine job keeping this team engaged and fighting hard despite everything going on. A lot of teams would have packed it in. See: Pitt. It's obvious they're giving it all, but they just don't have the horses to finish teams off.1 point

Most schools are stepping stones compared to UCF. They might not be OSU when it comes to athletics, but they're one of the biggest schools in the country, which is more important for this type of role. I agree on his character, but I don't think that's ever been in question. He's an all-around great person.1 point
