I was a Bowden fan, but wanted him to fire the OC. However, the expectations were higher his last couple of years and he did not produce. I, like most fans, agreed with his dismissal at the time it happened. Now, there is back pedaling across the board. He is gone now so he is not an option, and we need to focus on the current situation and move on. I would have liked Getsy as the head coach, but that did not happen. The statement above that 'Getsy has D1 playing and coaching experience. Arth has neither' is correct. However, Arth played in the NFL. He was not a star, but he made an NFL team. That is much so better than D1. He was also endorsed by Bernie Kosar and Peyton Manning, two of the smartest NFL players ever. These facts make it evident that Arth has very high football smarts. Now, that does not prove that he can recruit or coach. He has to prove that he can. Also, the talent level that Bowden left was pretty low. Pre-season analytics had the Zips losing each game, but they were predicted at a 1-2 win level based on statistics that they could have pulled off a couple of wins. Based on these facts, Arth is meeting expectations. Also, Arth's recruiting ratings last year were good considering the fact that he had a late start. In fact, many on this nation said it was better than any recruiting class in the Bowden era. Also, in 247 recruiting, he has all 3 star prospects to date this year. So, I have faith that he is brining in talent. With most of Bowden's classes, the recruits had only one offer, that from Akron. That appears to be improving as many of last year's recruits and this year's commits have more than one offer. I am disappointed and frustrated about the Zips season. However, Arth should never be compared to Ianello regarding football knowledge, who did not play college ball (I could not find any stats that he played). Arth has a high football IQ as evident by his experience. Now, he needs some time to get the right staff and players and make a push toward having a successful season. I will be at the next two home games, and I will try to follow today's game if I can find it on air. I will always remain a faithful Zip with expectations of a much better 20 season and a good 21 season. Go Zips!!!3 points

You're a month behind. 11 TD's in September. None in October. Time change is tonight.2 points

Couple observations : Same O Line and same results.. No running game and continuous pocket collapse. How about some new faces on the line? Not seeing many new faces and same results. We need some change. Too many boneheaded plays by upper classman . Kato is killing us.. he is rusty after sitting for 2 weeks. Our D is not playing that bad but D line still not getting much as far as penetration. Seeing a lot of missed assignments by guys who were brought in to make those very plays. This staff really needs to re evaluate their players and the play calling needs to change.2 points

I thought that much of Zips Nation was overly optimistic in the preseason with their estimates of wins. My thought was that they could win as few as two and as many as four. Even my pessimism could not match this ugliness. They're not firing Arth. As such, the keys in the off-season need to be: 1) work their @$$e$ off in recruiting, including jucos; 2) upgrade the staff. All of these connections Arth purportedly has better pay off in the off-season. They need kids that can play NOW.1 point

Nobody is pleased with it, bud. Your months are mixed up BTW.1 point

WE DID NOT SCORE A TOUCHDOWN IN OCTOBER! (and now into the first week of November).....and people were complaining about Terry Bowden's offensive coordinator. WOW!! ?1 point

Ok. So 100 total yards of offense against the 2nd worst team in the MAC. 35 unanswered points. -3 in turnovers. 0.9 ypc rushing. These are not stats of guys not meant for the staff's "scheme." The MAC east isn't the SEC. This staff is in over their heads and has completely lost this team. Truly Ianello 2.0. The faintest glimmer of hope is that sites are rating Arth recruits much higher than Ianello recruits ever were. Will they stay committed and will it translate? Will the staff be here to see it translate?1 point

Another question? Look at the sideline for BG. All their boys are dressed with exception of injured. AU home games we have at least 20 kids wearing jerseys. Please tell me why? Im sure all these kids work their tails off during the week just to get rewarded by wearing a jersey? Not sure the mentality with this. You don't attract recruits or anyone with this practice. Dress em all for Gods sakes and play em all.We are 0-9 .1 point

My thought is, if he was good enough to play before (which I believe he was), why wasn't he playing? Putting players in who won't be here next year at this point in the season is not a good look for the staff either way you look at it, IMO.1 point

Forget about scoring a touchdown this game. Can we get a first down. Each week this team gets worse. An Akron fan can only watch so much of this "team."1 point

According to the Zips schedule on the ESPN app, the following additional games are also on ESPN platforms: Nov. 15 vs NC Central (ESPN3) Nov. 18 vs SC Upstate (ESPN+) Nov. 21 vs YSU (ESPN+) Nov. 24 at Louisville (ACC Network) Dec. 30 vs UMASS (ESPN3) Jan. 4 at EMU (ESPN+) Jan. 7 vs WMU (ESPN+) Jan. 18 vs Toledo (ESPN3) Jan. 28 vs Buffalo (ESPN+) Mar. 3 vs Ohio (ESPN+) I'm sure others will be added as we get closer to those games.1 point

Akron finally had a positive play for 8 yards and one of our players head butts another player and gets a 15 yard penalty. Another 3 and out. How much can an Akron fan take?1 point

With all due respect...I don't think ANY Zips fan can ever be called a "Fair Weather Fan". If we're still here, and willing to post on a Zips-Fandom Forum...we're probably not fair weather fans brother! But we, as a collective, do probably need to band together a bit. The Zips fandom always seems a little divided...1 point

Maybe if Kato were the QB we would have won. But I guarantee that if JoJo Natson wouldn't have dropped that easy TD pass, we would have won.1 point

When you team has not won a game, is routinely getting blown out, and has not scored a touchdown since September, what bonus can he possibly obtain?1 point

What is interesting is that people complain about the discussion about the poor coaching performance, yet they are the only threads people really commenting on. The on-field play is so bad, it is difficult to even discuss. I will never agree to some ridiculous notion that Arth can make us respectable, let alone in 2 years. There is simply nothing that should lead us to believe that. Our play has not shown any signs of an improving team. We have a couple of players here and there seemingly playing a little better but it is tough to judge whether there is true improvement or just the opponent taking their foot off of the gas. I spoke to a former player and his concern was the lack of urgency and will to win. I think that is obvious.1 point

In other words, Arth will earn $500k unless there is a bonus associated with academic performance.1 point
