Good for the Ford kid. By a little hard work and effort he is now contributing more than a player who was an ACC recruit. The kid was 2 time Ashtabula County Player of the Year.3 points

Groce just said during the post game that he was a student manager that agreed to suit up to give an extra body during the covid outbreaks. He is going to stay as a walk-on for the rest of the season.3 points

Overall a good game, but I find it concerning that we allowed 19 offensive boards. Not securing boards played a big part in us losing to Kent they way we did. We were able to mask it against BGSU because of our offensive efficiency, but it's something we definitely need to work on.2 points

Pretty amazing box score - Zips shot 50-50-80 and the one that brought them down on foul shooting was X who is the teams best free throw shooter. Zips shot over 50% from three and two good three point shooters in X and Dawson were both 1-4. And three guys that got in at the last minute, had one rebound (Kalle), one assist (Wilson) and one basket (Ford). 😄2 points

I'm not sure about your overall prognosticating. It wasn't close, Enrique was a point short and only four fouls, you were WAAYY under on X with only 14 points (and six assists), And Trimble, my goodness unless 9 of them coming from deep meant his three pointers (and you were still wrong he had 10), you were way off there too. My god man stop embarrassing yourself. 😉😂😂2 points

Dylan Swingle. Apparently he is still at BGSU (according to ay-ziggy-zoomba) but decided not to play basketball any more. And it's possible ZipsWin is now ay-ziggy-zoomba famous too. :-) "Shoutout to the maskless Akron dad sitting behind their bench for screaming and stomping his feet when the shot clock stopped working. Really good stuff from a quality guy."2 points

Pretty sure Groce was not happy with Ford scoring that lay up as time expired lol. Come on..let him have his moment. Best MAC game thus far, rivaling best on the season. Go Zips!2 points

The announcers are so perplexed they're comparing the hair of Freeman and Reese. They've also educated me that being 7 feet tall is helpful down low. Hmm, who'd have thunk it.2 points

I am certain I loudly exclaimed what Ralphie in Christmas Story referred to as "THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word!" Fortunately, I was home alone.1 point

I was the same way on that one. It almost looked like the Zips thought it was going to be a shot clock violation ad stopped playing. Strange. Sometimes its better to be lucky and good.1 point

I am seeing us getting beat a lot on the long rebound. Rebounds where a quicker guard like LCJ could in the past swoop in and snag it while the brutes are locked up in battles for position.1 point

Point differential cost you, but I still think you win “Prediction of the Game” award today. 👍1 point

Dylan Swingle- https://www.sent-trib.com/sports/bgsu-s-swingle-leaving-men-s-basketball-program/article_404cd44e-2a97-11ec-9864-e7aaa39c30ae.html1 point

Misleading headline in the second tweet. It's actually just clips of GT's postgame interview w/ Trimble & Coach. But the first is a nice postgame article.1 point

The ZTV Sports Report has some of the worst commentary ever, I understand they are students too, but man most of the time they are shades off of "boom goes the dynamite". This one is actually one of the better clips, I recall a soccer clip from two years ago where they called a throw-in a "foul ball". That shot by X was only his second 3 he made after shooting 9 from deep before only making one.1 point

Another one of those "were you there?" games. The "commentary" misses much of the game ending drama, including Eastern missing tons of FTs. Also, you can see Channel give his back for team at the end.1 point

Full strength and healthy I think Western beats BG easily. Possibly Greg Tribble’s best game as a Zip. Trimble. Enough said1 point

Evan Wilson! With an assist! And a basket by Ford? He's not even on the online roster.1 point

He can break Akron's record if he gets 12 apparently. I'd like to see him get more opportunities since the game is in hand...1 point

Coach Jackson in Holmes County this week for the battle between Berlin Hiland and Sheridan featuring Zips recruits Ailla Miller of Hiland and Faith Stinson of Sheridan. https://twitter.com/CoachJackson21/status/1483255920108912642?t=wyssYyIC-vpujXVkEN745Q&s=091 point

Have to take BG here after that showing on Tuesday. Short turnaround, road game, more talented team. I just don't think we have enough offense to win consistently when the defense isn't fantastic and/or Trimble continues his shooting slump.1 point

I would say say that someone has done a good job of engaging the students and getting them to attend men's basketball games this season. Whatever they've done, I hope it translates to football.1 point

But that's only if they get paid. Russian league is notorious for not paying the wages they promise0 points

Look at my prior posts and review of Akron's opponents regarding stars. The team with the most stars of the recruits typically win the game. Who has more stars in the recruits, OSU, Auburn, etc. They win because of more talent. Then, we will have CK give 5 examples over a 15 year period where stars do not matter. Stars are not 100% accurate, but the trend is there. As I stated in the past, if you cannot play above TBAll level, you do not understand that talent matters in sports. I am out on this post so say whatever you want.0 points
