It feels like college football in Akron today! Busy lots already. Nice football weather. Would love to see a W on the board today, more than usual!5 points

Insertion of Rui Reis.....as a 2nd striker....to go along with Shooky.....really seemed to be the key moment for the zips....to open up the game Dobrijevic really had a strong game Reis......might not show up on the score sheet....but he had a big impact on the game With zips having 3 out of their last 4 big east games on the road, it was huge to get the 3 points at home.... Credit to the coaches....for getting Rui Reis into the game.....(with Shooky)....to open up the middle of the box.... great shot by Stefan....on first goal....4 points

Total domination in the first half by the zips. Alas, no score Nano missed a PK...and Shooky hit one off the top crossbar with 8 minutes left in the first half. Let's get a goal and those 3 points....zips !!!3 points

Dwight Smith…Jason Taylor…Charlie Frye…Dominik Hixon…Luke Getsy…Ulysses Gilbert…etc. all came to UA under the same circumstances and things worked out well for them. It is a great fit for the right student athlete. We need program builders. We need guys who were getting a raw deal at their former school, or who were under recruited out of HS and have something to prove. We need local kids who want to play for a coach like Joe Morehead, but who don’t want to travel to the likes of Oregon, Happy Valley or Mississippi to do it. Examples of programs who’ve been where Akron’s at now and turned it around are endless. Joe will turn the Zips into winners, and respectable crowds will follow. If you want to walk into a situation where the crowds already exist and you win week in week out, the Akron program isn’t there. You’re better off elsewhere. If you want a great shot at early playing time, great facilities, great coaching, and want to help build something, UA offers that opportunity.3 points

Can’t blame Irons today. Tough to blame Arth as only a few of his guys are here still. Scary part is, we’ll never have a better hire than Moorhead on paper, so if he can’t turn the program around….2 points

I truly have never been this discouraged by a game in my life. I have lost total faith in Morehead and his band of morons he calls coaches. Bums. All of them, and the players. Bums.2 points

I think we can blame him some for driving the program so far into the dirt that it required a full rebuild (even obviously a multi-year rebuild).1 point

The fire the coach crowd is very NE Ohio. Morehead has been here 1.5 years. To fire him now is Browns fans level stupidity.1 point

They lost by 6 touchdowns to a one win MAC team. A little tough to be optimistic today. He took on an awful team but I think we were all hoping for more improvement a season and a half in.1 point

This season is a failure. Still can be made a success, but it’s now officially labeled a failure in my eyes. Time to see what the guys are made of. And I would start to expect some coaching staff shakeups after the season.1 point

In true MAC fashion, BG has yet to score on Miami deep into the 4th quarter following a blowout win on the road against an ACC school.1 point

Nah, wouldn't go that far. What that coach did to those kids and families is pretty heinous. JoeMo is at least a good person.1 point

I wish you and your son well, but online forums tend not to be fun places for the parents of players or their children.1 point

... I glance up at the TV and NIU is waltzing into the end zone again early in the second half. Embarrassing on so many levels ... Pat McAfee picked Akron as his Super Underdog today on College Game Day.1 point

I have GREAT memories of what I thought at the time was competitive football where we stood a chance every game back in the late-70s/early-80s. Great fall days and nights under the lights ... fireworks ... people in the decrepit stands ... no body scans or clear plastic bags ... . Maybe my recollection of what it was like is fading with time but I don't EVER remember football THIS BAD ... 10+ years worth and counting. Can't believe how bad this is.1 point

I feel ashamed for not being all that excited about today. We get 5-6 home games a year to enjoy and the first two have just been so ugly that I find myself dreading the thought of watching more football there. How nice! There’s an old saying that if you have two QBs, you don’t have one. I worry about that at the prospect of doing dual QB. I’m hoping Coach could come up with something to get this offense back to life. Getting playmakers the ball, getting chunks of yards. NIU has a stellar defense. In 2015, we saw our 3rd string QB come off the bench in week 3 and wind up leading us to a 7-3 record as a starter. Then in 2021 our third stringer came off the bench at BG and led us to a blowout victory. Maybe the same thing happens today, who knows. Go Zips!1 point

I’ve actually heard some rumblings that Tahj might get the start, don’t quote me on it unless it happens!1 point

At the highest level, it's already an exclusive club. There are less than 10 schools with any shot to win a national championship. When the super conference is created, that is the one thing that won't change. They can have their money. The rest of college football will remain the same. It could be improved for the rest of colleges because they can finally stop chasing the Holy Grail and setting into a level of college football they can realistically succeed in. I'll still go to games because I like college football and I don't really care who is playing or about their shot at winning a national championship. This is the main reason I really don't care about conference realignment. It has no meaningful impact on my life. Casual fans lives won't change because they will watch football on TV regardless. Degenerate gamblers will bet on anything regardless of a super conference or not. Alumni will still follow their school.1 point

NIU better dedicate this game to Garrett Wolfe. This beat down is definitely payback for the 2005 MAC Championship game.0 points
