Rewatching last night's game & neither of our PG's (Tavari & Thornton) played very well. I didn't realize the Jackrabbit's Zeke Mayo shot so poorly from 3 because while watching live last night he was looking like Kobe Bryant out there. He's a smooth & prolific scorer. I love the Jackrabbit's F William Kyle. He's amazing. Only a sophomore 🤯 He can jump out of the gym, is strong with a high motor, and has some moves! I find it difficult to believe Freeman will face another big all season long as good as William Kyle. Hey William, wanna be a Zip next year?! 😂3 points

Tonight begins the Battle for the Belt. The new challenge put in place by the Sun belt and MAC. We need to root for all the MAC teams (even the thunder bolts) to help boost the MAC in the March Madness and CBI rankings. Troy vs Ohio tonight and KSU tomorrow. We have a thread for us and the rest are Saturday. Fly the flag🏴☠️2 points

Will be crossing my fingers hoping for that PCCC win every time because, you know, it's good for the MAC. And big game in Athens tonight. I would hate to see the Kittens lose and a subsequent meltdown on Kitten Attack. Would hate it.2 points

BG pulled out a win over Cleveland State. They were down 4 with under a minute left and made a three to go one down. CSU then missed two free throws and with under 10 seconds BG guard went the length of the floor and was fouled with a second or so left. She made the first free throw to tie it. She missed the second and CSU rebounded and immediately called timeout. However, they didn't have a timeout so they were assessed a technical foul. BG made the tech free throw to win the game.2 points

In the way too early bracketology, the Zips are a 14 seed playing Michigan State in Pittsburgh. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/page/bracketology/ncaa-bracketology-2024-march-madness-men-field-predictions2 points

Sure wish ESPN had decided to televise last weeks game instead of this one. Against Morgan State the defense held onto the lead for the last 26 seconds of the game. Against Kent State the defense held onto the lead for the last 52 seconds of the game. Tonight's contest may require the Zips defense to hold the lead for over two minutes. Go Zips.1 point

I hope we go to JMU for the return. In fact, I’ll make that my official fearless forecast. Second pick would be Louisiana.1 point

It was quite a game. I spend my evenings watching mid-major women's basketball games. Naaahh.... I saw it on Sportscenter.1 point

Don't see how Akron competes with Miami. I am hoping for 1 more win this season. Want to see Moorehead continue to alter his play calling to take some heat off Undercuffler and let him try to do something like what he did against KSU, manage a game. Moorehead has to try to keep his offense on the field longer. That means stay with Lingard et al even if it isn't producing much early. If Moorehead reverts, the D will be gassed and the game out of hand. Lets see if the coaches have learned anything Certainly not what we were hoping for. At least the D made sisgnificant improvement.1 point

In looking at the final results from the meet, it appears we didn't swim some of our more seasoned veterans, and went with a more "newbie" lineup, plus we didn't have a very deep representation in every event, i.e. 3 Zips entered vs. 8 OU swimmers in the 200 free, etc. So depth wasn't there. No Dyer, no Goreka, no Sebotin. Plus, the women swam against Ohio State the night before this meet in Columbus in a dual, so I would assume they went big vs. the Buckeyes to see how they match up, and hoped the reserves could score vs. Ohio. Just a guess. And on top of that, I'm not sure how much dual results in the MAC mean to Peresie, this was a chance to let his team swim in the pool where the MAC Championships will be held in March.1 point

He out-played Freeman for a lot of the game last year. And that was his first ever college game. Solid player, could be POY in the Summit League before he’s done there.1 point

I'm very happy for our players who received well-deserved recognition from the Big East Conference. I missed more games this year than usual due to other priorities, but appreciate all of our players and proud to support all of them as best I can. Regardless of how this season ends, thanks to all for being Zips; proud to know all by name (even if my recall doesn't work as rapidly as I wish these days). Thanks to all for taking time to talk from time to time.1 point

I'm surprised Joel Sangwa didn't receive any Big East postseason recognition.1 point

A belated congrats to the Zips on a tremendous road win. So many different guys stepped up at critical times throughout the game. Let's back it up with another one on Friday and get the bandwagon rolling. This definitely can be a special team.1 point

Line is hovering around 17.5-18. Miami is talented, big, strong, physical, and very well rested. This is one of the toughest opponents on the schedule, even without Gabbert. They went into Athens a week and a half ago and just bullied the Bobcats off the field, scoring 30 unanswered points at one point. It would have been cool to play a much more beatable opponent after last week, but beggars can't be choosers. Akron can still pick up a win, maybe two, to close out the year, but I wouldn't expect it to come tomorrow night. With that said, it would be great to see them ride the wave a little bit and make things competitive. I've thought all year that one win would catapult the team forward. Well, I didn't think it would take almost two months to get that win. Indiana, Buffalo, CMU, etc. etc. Last year, we saw very strong efforts the last three games of the season that gave us hope for this year. I'm going to try to not let these last few weeks of results give me hope either way for next year as I've learned my lesson, but wouldn't it be nice to see these guys make the most out of their last few weeks together? It's a shame they aren't playing for a bowl. No fault of anyone but themselves, I just miss playing "meaningful" November games that have stakes for us, as opposed to just playing spoiler. Almost as impressive is that the annoucers indicated that Tribble matched his season output of made 3 pointers since he only had one last season. Really impressed with the announcers who took the time to learn about the Zips. Makes me wonder how many on this board knew this fact?1 point

I just wanted to point out that at 1 for 2 Greg Tribble now leads the Zips in 3-point field goal percentage!1 point

I think the only miracle we can hope for is the committee isn’t comfortable putting a 6 loss Pitt, a 6 loss Kentucky, and a 5 loss Cal in the field. Fingers crossed.1 point
