  4. I see our 3pt shooting still not showing any sign of life. Never thought I’d be most comfortable with Tribble taking the shot.

  7. Here are some big time programs' all-time leading scorers... Kentucky: Dan Israel - 2138 Kansas: Danny Manning - 2951 (#2 is Nick Collision with 2097) Duke: JJ Redick - 2769 (#2 is Johnny Dawkins with 2556) UNC: Tyler Hansborough - 2872 (#2 is Phil Ford with 2290) UCLA: Don MacLean - 2608 (#2 is Kew Alcindor - AKA Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - with 2325) Some all-time great individuals... Pete Maravich - 3667 (NCAA scoring record) Doug McDermott - 3150 Oscar Robertson - 2973 Larry Bird - 2850 Had Akron been in the MAC during Joe's career, he would be the all-time leading scorer in MAC history. Bonzi Wells currently wears that crown with 2485. Jakubick is the 55th leading scorer among DI programs currently. Fun fact - he's 6 spots ahead of Austin Carr. So, long story short - no, nobody will catch Jakubick, barring an all-time great not just at Akron, but in NCAA history.

  8. Not much chatter considering the opponent tomorrow night. This game could really shift the momentum after these last few uneven performances. Joint should be jumpin. Go Zips!

  9. I'm excited to finally have a college football game to play again, but I know it will take a few years until they actually pay attention to schools like Akron. It took several years of playing in a generic stadium before they actually included InfoCision in the older games.

  13. The fun thing about going through that was remembering all the great Zips players who have brought us a lot of joy over the years. And the jaw dropping thing was a photo of Xeryrius Williams from 2020 with GREG TRIBBLE in the background.

  18. I have no Zips white gear. Guess my wife and I need those giveaway shirts tonight. Saw the social media post that the game is sold out. Psyched. Zips win 71-64.

  19. Interesting subplots: - Akron is aiming to stay on track to get the #1 seed in the MAC Tournament. If CMU stays in 3rd, we'd win a tiebreaker over Toledo since we beat CMU and they lost to them. Win out and it's likely ours. - Kent State, on the other hand, is still fighting to get to Cleveland. EMU, Buffalo, and NIU seem unlikely to make it, which leaves 9 teams to battle for 8 spots. Kent is currently on a 3-way tie with Miami and Western Michigan while Ball State sits one game behind them all. After tonight, Kent has Buffalo and CMU at home and Ball State and Toledo on the road. There's a very real scenario where Kent loses tonight and drops games against CMU, Ball State, and UT and misses the tournament altogether. Wouldn't that be fantastic?

  20. Joe Jakubick - 2583 Len Paul - 2028 Eric McLaughlin - 1810 Enrique Freeman - 1662 If Enrique Freeman scores 30 PPG for the remainder of the regular season, he'll be #3. If he scored 19 PPG, we would need to make it to Saturday in Cleveland. Anything less would require a post-season tourney (NCAAs or NIT).

  23. Saw an article that this is coming back this summer and every kid will get around $600 payment for using their name and likeness. Probably the only NIL money that Akron kids will get.

  24. Reggie Bass transferring from CMU to Kent to play less, score less, and win less (than CMU this year) is absolutely hilarious.
