Zips on top on the entire Big East and it isn't because they've played a weak schedule. Defeated both division champions from last year.5 points

Very fun practice to go to. my biggest take away was although the new players are shinny new and have good resumes. I think the core of Tavari, Scott and Amani will be major players and all have improved a lot. (Nate Johnson did not play) Isaiah Gray and Seth Wilson look like grown men that will be bigger and stronger then anyone they guard. Like eye popping big. my biggest surprise was Eric Mahaffey. I think he grew this summer. Hit shots and looked like he will play. Was running with the core of Tavari, Wilson, Harris. Which I thought had starting back court vibes. my most excited player going into the practice was Sharron young. He was as advertised. Might not start but by March could be our best player. Can shoot, pass, and is a pesky defender. my prediction for the opening night starting line up is: Tavari Johnson Seth Wilson Nate Johnson Josiah Harris James Okonkwo3 points

it happens when you say that the blue chip players that used to go to college donāt, but you donāt change your coaching approach. Incredible lack of subs. Players tire and donāt play consistently. Very happy for this win but having only 13 maybe 14 players get game action doesnāt seem to be setting up for a long post season run. Where are Guardeiro, Barboto, Dobrijevic, Buebendorf, ā¦.? Happy to see Jack Roman getting significant minutes he deserves. Glad to see Nicolas Beier.3 points

UA Alumni are holding a "Renew Your Wedding Vows" Ceremony in Lot #10 prior as part of their Homecoming festivities on Saturday. They offered a first come first served 8 spots beginning around 11:00 am for alumni couples (5 minutes per couple). So the wife and I are taking a 30 minute break from normal tailgating to do it. Should be fun. Interesting note - the Zips got beat by BGSU on our wedding day 31 years ago. I recall it was 35-0 at he half. I was listening to Dunn and French on my Walkman as the church was filling up. Hard to believe it's been 40 years since our first date. I don't have an actual date photo, but era-wise it feels like this one is close enough.3 points

Agreed. But rather be 3-0 with Georgetown and Xavier in the rearview mirror rather than looking up at either.2 points

Got no problem with Ydratch. He is as tough and smart as they come. Is he perfect? No. But he gives consistent, maximum effort - always. Love that guy!2 points

The Women's soccer team is sorely in need of a goal scorer at this point. I was afraid that the pre-season success wouldn't translate to MAC success, and unfortunately so far it hasn't. The scores haven't been bad, but they hide the fact that the defense is under constant pressure, with lack of offensive threats. Four straight clean sheet losses are quickly making the tournament a pipe dream. Not through lack of effort, but Coach needs to find an answer soon, and Sunday vs. Ohio is a good time to find one. Bobcats are undefeated at 1-0-3, and beat Oakland 7-0 in mid-September, beat BG 3-0 and just had a nil-nil draw vs. Kent State. Go Zips!2 points

That drive is the offense that we have been hoping for for 2 1/2 seasons. Now do it again (after a defensive stop)1 point

I wonder if BG would have taken a knee with one time out left like Akron did1 point

I mean...sometimes you have to be unorthodox to be an offensive wizard1 point

Great to hear. I assume you meant Josiah Harris. I am looking forward to hearing everyone's observations as I was unable to make it.1 point

Intense practice. Tavari looked good. Josiah Smith Harris looks like he'll be our leading scorer. Skilled & definitely looks like he has a scorer's mentality. Seth Wilson is built like a bull.1 point

To win titles, this is what you must do.. occasionally. But you must play consistently good football, something that's difficult for this team. š1 point

sadly, Dar Nag was born in Liberia. I do agree that he would be light years better than our candidates in the past 10 years1 point

The comments about the OL not being physically good enough are simply not true. I went back and rewatched every offensive play. I counted 9 passes that were poorly thrown when the QB had a clean pocket. Also, several of the QB scrambles were unnecessary as the QB actually had time. Iām not saying the OL was perfect by any stretch, but they did enough to give the QB a chance. EDIT: This post isnāt meant to take a shot at Finley. He obviously has to play better and the coaches need to put him in more situations to be successful. Hereās every offensive play for anyone who cares to go back and rewatch. 1st Drive: Play 1 - RPO. Completed pass. 4 man rush. Clean pocket. Play 2 - RPO. Completed pass. 4 man rush. Clean pocket. Play 3 - Swing Pass. Completed pass. 5 man rush. Clean pocket. (Holding on WR) Play 4 - RPO. Run by RB. Blitzing LB made the tackle. 6 man rush. Play 2 - Pass. QB scramble. QB stepped up into the pocket and then chose to keep himself. 4 man rush. Play 3 - Pass. Incomplete pass. Blitz was picked up by RB. QB errant throw to TE. 4th Drive: Play 1 - RPO. Run. LT missed block on DE that made the tackle. 4 man rush. Play 2 - Pass. Incomplete pass. QB under threw WR. QB stepped into the pocket and overthrew the deep ball. QB hit after he threw the ball. 4 man rush. (Penalty on Ohio) Play 3 - RPO. Completed Pass. 4 man rush. Clean pocket. Play 4 - RPO. Run. OL did not block up to either LB that made the tackle. 4 man rush. Play 5 - Run. QB draw that got blown up in the backfield by Ohioās blitz. 6 man rush. 6th Drive: Play 1 - RPO. Completed Pass.
