Can we at least play 40 competitive minutes against a decent mid-major. Getting boat-raced for a 4th consecutive measuring stick game would be wholly unfun.6 points

Except for perhaps the NCAA Top 10-to-15, who in their right mind could survive the workload of being a head college football coach if this trend continues? You have to re-recruit your entire team every year? re-recruit your current players... recruit high schoolers... recruit the Transfer Portal... retain your staff... find replacements for departed staff... Not only is rebuilding a program now virtually impossible but the job responsibilities of the head coach have become, IMHO, literally overwhelming.5 points

The "system" has drained whatever interest I've had for NCAA football completely from me. I'm hanging on by a thread to NCAA DI basketball, men's and women's. Two threads for college soccer. @Blue & Gold is right, how do you do your job as a head coach - why do you want to do the job of a head coach - even at a MAC level school? I've always poo-pooed the comments made here regarding dropping football, dropping back to lower level football, etc. But maybe there's a point where you say, "why not?" Especially while we are in the "budget crisis" we've been in since God knows how long? Maybe there's a point where you just say "Enough!", tell the MAC see you later, and explore dropping down? It's not like it's going to hurt attendance at games, maybe season tickets and sponsors money, and seat holders that want to say they belong to a DI program. Maybe the Good Ol' Days of seeing your team in a FCS or DII, DIII Championship race would bring in at least the same number of fans and make it fun again. This post-season of NIL and Transfer portal news is simply insane and unsustainable. When it all collapses, and it will, where will the Zips stand? Just like @Blue & Gold, this is just my humble opinion....3 points

There is something going on within the program. Simmons departure makes no sense. Was he suggested to leave so a complete rebuild could occur? I don't think so, but nothing makes sense. Most of our players who have left will not find NIL money. Do they want to play for a winner? Maybe, but at UA they had their spots won and the program was heading upward. If they had really bought in as Joe has said repeatedly not this many would be leaving. They could have been comfortable, but they chose to leave for the chaos of the TP. Why? There has to be more here than we are aware.3 points

I agree only to a point. Regardless of what the Princeton’s announcers might think, they got a lot of home cooking in those final minutes.2 points

Yes and MMK has provided some solid minutes in the post. He is Freeman Lite, very similar to Enrique's first year or two. Scrappy, always around the ball down low, but unrefined.2 points

I don’t believe we have a “go-to” either. I thought it could be Harris, but who knows when we will see him again and how long it will take for him to get re-acclimated. In the future I can see Young being the guy.1 point

We’ll land some good players. It’ll be difficult to retool the lines of scrimmage at a high level with no NIL funds, but we’ll see what happens. There are a number of offers out there that we don’t know about. I’m just posting the ones that have been placed on social media.1 point

What about the other 15 points they subtracted from the deficit in the final 15 minutes? It wasn't a millimeter here-or-there that cost us the game. They hit clutch shots, while we clanged-away from 3. Who is "clutch" on this Zips team, and who short-arms their shots when we need a bucket? Nate and Tavari are the guys I want to have the ball down the stretch. Grey, Hardman, Wilson, etc....not so much.1 point

I’m not getting worked up over offers. The staff has pulled a slew of P5 transfers. Some worked out and some haven’t. Plenty of good players out there from the FCS and D2 level. More than ever with transfer portal meaning less high school recruits going FBS. Even further, we’ve shown we can have success landing high schoolers with no other FBS offers. Look no further than Norton, McCoy, and James.1 point

Groce is good and pi$$ed. He just said that sometimes in life you get served s*** sandwiches. 7 minutes to say it was conclusive.1 point

Horrific coaching with 7 minutes to go. Up 11 and we take 4 consecutive 3 pointers while they had no defense when we drove it for pull-up 2 pointers and offensive rebounds by James all second half. We deserved to lose!1 point

The ref nearest the play put his arms up for a three but immediately changed it to 2 fingers.1 point

Having a team that has a chance to win SOMETHING will probably result in more fans. Adding that all of their games would be on Saturdays, instead of this late season Tuesday/Wednesday garbage...yeah, attendance would rise in this instance. Would it make up for the loss of body bag game money? Probably a reason why they're not making this move just yet...1 point

This is a bungle by the refs. Was it a 2 or 3 that was originally called? I know it sure wasn’t overturnable.1 point

Zips have done a great job today making sure Princeton doesn't go on full blown runs.1 point

Good half. I like the fact that we closed it out strong and did not allow Princeton to cut into the lead.1 point

Florida State and Leonard Hamilton getting sued by 6 former players for not coming through on NIL money- https://sports.yahoo.com/6-former-florida-state-players-file-lawsuit-against-coach-leonard-hamilton-over-nil-compensation-133553612.html1 point

Maybe it's just me, but these offers are just sad. Really, DII and FCS talent is all we are capable of maybe getting?1 point

The players have all bought into the delusion that they will end up with a lucrative NIL deal or perhaps a chance at making a splash at a P4 program. We are living in an instant gratification, YOLO era.1 point

Baker leaving sure surprised me. It’s getting harder to be excited about recruits until we see them perform in an Akron jersey. Because we just don’t know if they will pan out. And I am someone who really enjoys following the recruiting process1 point

I think that's the problem. All schools want quality bigs that can play. There is a large surplus of talented 5'10"-6'5" guards/wings. There are only so many 6'10+ bigs who can run the floor and aren't a liability on the court. Most of those get eaten up by the big schools. We were fortunate for the past few years having a 6'7" walk-on who played like he was 6'11, but had the quickness of a wing. Those guys are far and few between at the mid-major level.1 point
