Toledo has had 4 stars sign in the past. Nick Rossi was a 4 star LB that we signed because we were going to give him a chance at RB. After he signed the recruiting sites changed his star rating to 2.

What I don't get is why he thought he needed to leave to have a chance at the NFL. Now would be the time to play at Akron to have a shot to make it with a offensive minded coach who is competent. Be the big fish in a small pond. If your a good enough WR for the league they will find you. Just ask Dominik Hixon, Jojo Natson, Cory Davis , Julian Edelman, Josh Cribs, Greg Jennings, .....

If we are going to be taken seriously by the locals then we need credible teams coming to Info. We need teams like Indiana to come here that have a name but are in reach of us competitively. Having an SEC school come to Akron will generate a lot buzz, especially if we take care of business and are 2-0 going into it. You also don't know what Kentucky team we are getting. A 2 win team or a 9 win team.

I hope this means we have more money to pay for and keep good assistant coaches.

I have talked about how I've seen other schools around the MAC have to look for a new coach after theirs have moved on to a bigger school. We fire our coaches. I would love to replace a coach because he is moving on to a bigger opportunity. That would mean we are winning and having fun. That said... I hope Coach Moorhead is here for the long haul while we are winning and having fun.

Kirk Herbstreit recently commented on the reason the U of Miami Fla hasn't had success is because the juggernauts all have their Presidents, AD's and Coaches all working together with the same vision. You can't have a contender with out it. This presser told me for the first time in our history, we have ALL 3 that our passionate about winning football. That the glorious blue and gold Wagon Wheel means as much to them as it does to me.

On the surface this looks weird with early signing day fast approaching but I think this is a tell. This tells me he his more confident in hitting the transfer portal than trying to keep all the kids that the previous coach recruited. He believes he can get better talent than what was coming. I know this but it is still always weird to see. They are contenders year in and out but could never be top dog. 0 and 4 in championship games and it feels like they should of played in more.

Joe was my #1 choice but thought he had got to far up the food chain for it to happen. Reading all this the last 2 days has really got me excited. The list of candidates a lone is at a higher level than we have seen. I wonder if our 2 week night national TV games played into this. We showed there is potential here and we got a lot of love from the national media during those games. That si article showed why Joe would come here. He was loyal to his alma mater and stayed there longer than expected till the right job came a long. A job that was close to his family. Our opening does both of those things. He can come back to where he got his start. In a program he knows. In a place that is close to home.

more of Solich's guys are retiring. Ohio: Defensive coordinator / safeties coach Ron Collins and co-defensive coordinator / defensive ends coach Pete Germano have announced that they will be retiring at the conclusion of the season. Collins and Germano have been at Ohio nearly 10 and 20 years, respectively. Both are tremendously respected coaches who undoubtedly will be missed my many.

The Mouth of the South didn't like to recruit at a place that the name recruit's itself. I think he is also too abrasive to come up here and get local buy in. To go with that, it is already almost impossible to get local media to say anything nice about the university without Mullen hurting someone's feelings. .... though I would find it amusing for someone to put GT in his place.
