I am not big on Notre Dame, especially based on past experience with a former Akron head coach who shall not be named (Faust Excluded). It would surprise me that Brian Polian would be interested in Akron. If he is, he would be a huge get for Akron. He has been a successful head coach at Nevada, has great connections, and has been Notre Dame's recruiting coordinator. Recruiting is the life blood of college football and those connections can prove very valuable. I think a lot of the names that have been floated have potential. Polian seems to be a premier candidate IMO.

Akron has a gem with this soccer program. The school, community, and administration needs to fully support the program due to its elite status and keep it there. Invest in soccer.

The Zips have the talent to compete with South Carolina. Time for the players to take control of their final game. I hope they come out and play like they did against Northwestern in the second half. If not, then it could get ugly.

I did not see the game. Darn work. Looks like a letdown game. I hope the players use this to fuel their hate fire for losing. March is what counts in college basketball and getting there is a process. There are a lot of things to build on and a lot to work on. I think the coaching staff will have the right messaging for the guys. So long as they buy in and trust the process they will be in a good place in March. OH, and fire Milwee.

I was planning on attending the Bowling Green game next week and then traveling to Athens for the Ohio game. I think I’ll stay home and work on my honey do list so my wife will be happy. Happy wife, happy life. Hoping soccer makes a good run. Looking forward to hoops making big progress. Looking forward to the nice football recruiting class we have. And very much looking forward to a new offensive coordinator next year.

I can’t watch anymore of this offense

Worst offense in college football. I don’t know how the game is close. Maybe we can get a fluke win.

Looked to me like Groce was trying to give his small squad an extended look last night to see how they would respond. Once we went bigger we played better. I think that is what Groce likes about this team. He likes having the diversity to play big or small depending on the matchup. I don’t read too much into the first half. That was an experiment. This team needs to work on chemistry which is to be expected with so many new faces. This team has a lot of athletes and good enough size to compete with anyone in the MAC and many power schools. Groce is building this team with an eye toward the tournament. Could be an explosive team and very dangerous in March. I was eagerly anticipating Hester’s arrival this year. I thought he would be the catalyst this season. Hurts our backcourt depth as Jackson is the only clear point we have. Roscoe may be an adequate backup eventually. Walter won’t get an playing time against quality opponents unless we have severe foul trouble or injury. Looking forward to an entertaining year.

Noah is a good player. I enjoyed watching him play. Carried himself well. I wish him all the best.

Does anyone know the status of Kato for the game this week?

I may need a 5th of something if I continue to watch Zips games which I will.

Kato played well and offense scored some points. Defense made good adjustments and played hard. Losing Kato hurt and hopefully he is OK. The difference was the physical play of NIU. NIU is good.

Well that didn’t help.

Defense has made great adjustments. Kudos to the coaches. Kato was having a good game. Need a drive here. It’s Ramart’s time to shine.
