Frostburg St is in Western Maryland. Both California University and Indiana University are schools in Pennsylvania. I sometimes will pass near all three on trips to Akron and back. And Concord is the mountain lions, but quite honestly their symbol sort of does look like a bunch of grapes. 😂

According to Kenpom himself, Luck, is the deviation in winning percentage between a team’s actual record and their expected record using the correlated gaussian method. The luck factor has nothing to do with the rating calculation, but a team that is very lucky (positive numbers) will tend to be rated lower by my system than their record would suggest. If a team's efficiency suggests they should have won 10 games but they actually won 12 (especially if those extra wins came in close games), they're considered lucky. If their efficiency suggests 10 wins, but they only won 8 (losing close ones), they're unlucky.

And as a reward for Miami playing that extraordinarily difficult out of conference schedule, they start with cream puff Ball State.

Arghh my bracket was off, it was Princeton. Because of the way they position the brackets I messed up Akron's victory over Duke. Duke beat Princeton and Princeton lost their first game to Duke.

So in every tournament where a team wins five or six games, there is also a team that theoretically loses five or six. That team this year is Michigan. Washington beat NC State who beat St. Louis who beat Akron who beat Notre Dame who beat Michigan. Congrats Wolverines!

It was pretty damn cold when we were there in 2009 as well. 1-0 Washington just before the half. They just mentioned that NC State does not have a single come from behind victory this season.
