  1. The ESPN3 broadcasts have been top notch. No complaints.
  2. Akron at WMU, Kalamazoo MI. 7:00 1/24/2017 The Broncos are only 2-4 in the MAC but all four losses have been away and they have beaten KSU and Toledo at home. They are 6-1 overall at home so this may not be an easy game. Go ahead and enter your guesses.
  3. Holy cow Marcus Keene went for 50 against Miami tonight.
  4. Plus it would put everyone two games back six games into the season.
  5. It was on right before the Top Ten plays toward the end of the show.
  6. I thought it was just going to be an SC top ten on Jimond's dunk. It was a whole segment during Kevin Connors Star of the Night. Excellent!
  7. Sadly no winners tonight (other than the Zips!). Maybe I overcorrected and made it too hard. The only two people to guess Big Dog as the Zips high scorer did not think there would be no double double. Big Dog and Baylee Steele from EMU came closest with double digit points and 8 rebounds. Even though it wasn't a great game by the Zips good win over a decent team.
  8. Actually I find it harder with just yes and no questions. I just take the category that has the fewest number of winners and then see if they are also in the other two category winning slots. Not that bad.
  9. EMU has just the kind of offense and defense I think will give the Zips matchup problems. They have size inside to counter Big Dog and Kwan and have quick guards to counter the Zips three point shooters. Plus Raven Lee returns tonight and he and Thompson are tough offensive players. Don't see the Zips going undefeated so I think they drop this one. However I am never so happy as to be wrong with a Zips win.
  10. Sorry for being a little slow but here is tonight's Zips Quiz for the EMU game.
  11. Here's the stuff you hope to avoid during a good year. Maurice Watson out of the rest of the year with an ACL tear. I was so impressed with him when the Zips played Creighton.
  12. Would love to see Kwan get to 1000 points. He is 223 points away so with the minimum number of games remaining of 14 he'd have to average just under 16 points per game. Seems a stretch but if the Zips can go to 17 games he'd only need about 13. I do hope he makes it.
  13. Lots of winners - need to make to questions harder :-). Congrats to NWAkron, UAZippers, zippyfan34, LZip, ziptrumpet87 (assuming he did it before the end of the game :-}), ogzips, DrZ and UAZips. Zips win Ivey with 15 151 final total for the over
  14. Anyone notice that the field is flipped in this tweet? One for the conspiratists.
  15. It came from Elton Alexander. Thanks Elton.
  16. A lot of MACtion in that game. March, Roethlisberger, Brown, Harrison, Nix, Fisher, Mitchell.
  17. Ohio at Akron Tuesday January 17th, 7:00 EST. ESPN3.
  18. Out of 31 entries only two people got all three right - congrats to zippy5 and ziptrumpet87. I think most of us assumed if we were under in one category we'd be over in the other. zippy5 and ziptrumpet87 were the only ones to guess Big Dog's points would be under (8), as would the 3 pointers (10) and we'd still win.
  19. Well if one team had to come in with a loss into Tuesday's game glad it was the Bobcats. :-) No last-second miracle this time.
  20. EMI up by 1 with 1:20 to go
  21. I was looking forward to paying a visit to App St as part of the home and home in 2018. When the hell did it get moved to 2022?
  22. Akron (13-3, 3-0 MAC) at Miami (8-8, 1-2 MAC). 3:30 EST Millett Hall Miami. The Zips are the second highest rated MAC team at 91 (behind Ohio at 89) in Kenpom.com and the Redhawks the lowest (by a wide margin 50 spots lower than BGSU as the next lowest) at 282, so the Zips should be able to handle this one but strange things have happened at Millett recently. Maybe the MAC is a little better this year but the Zips should win this to go 4-0 heading into the Ohio showdown. Incidentally the Youngstown (8-9, #284) loss is looking even worse now but the Marshall (11-6, #97 and leading Conference USA) win is looking even better. I always thought the Dr. Z Three for Thursday football quizzes were fun so maybe we should start them for basketball.
  23. Well Brett and Reggie did look an awful lot alike :-)
  24. And that would be the correct answer because I recall Reggie McAdams scoring 31 against CMU and under his GoZips bio it states he "came off the bench to score a career-high 31 points on 10-of-13 shooting (6-of-9 from 3-point range) and grabbed a career-high six boards in just 23 minutes against Central Michigan on Jan. 17 ... his 31-point performance was tied for the 11th-most by a MAC play during the 2014-15 season ... became the first by a Zip in 265 games to score at least 30 points in a game (37, Romeo Travis, Feb. 24, 2007)"
  25. NIU did beat Kent but the Bulls got robbed. The Bobcats miss two three throws with 30 seconds left and the rest called a jump ball on the rebound that it appeared Buffalo controlled. The arrow gave it back to the Bobcats and they won it on a jumper.
