I won't be as pessimistic as 1981, but I am realistic.  The MAC is separating into 4 groups:  1.  Toledo and Ohio   2.  Akron, Buffalo, and Kent.  3.  Ball State, Bowling Green, and Miami. 4.  The directional schools.

Difference between groups 1 and 2 is consistency.

Please note that Ohio is trouncing Buffalo at Buffalo.  Zips playing for the 3rd seed.

I do not understand Groce.  We always start the 2nd half with a long 3 from Trimble and he misses.  Well here we go again.  A long 3 by Trimble followed by a long 3 by X and we are done for the evening.  I replayed the first foul called on Freeman and it was 12 feet from the basket and Freeman had his hand on the player and it did not effect the play at all.  Ticky tack foul called by a ticky tack ref.

Well now we know where things stand. Second tier MAC team with Kent and Buffalo (probably more towards the middle than top) while OU and Toledo are above the rest. Doesn't mean we can't go on a run and win the tourney, see OU last year...but its tough to envision.

I'm not sure what the obvious fix is next year either. Just gotta hope these guys keep improving.

The team showed us who they are against EMU, WMU, and CMU.   One close game with a crap team happens.  3 in two weeks?

I just don't see this team being able to put together 3 quality wins in a row. When Trimble is on we're capable of beating anyone, but he has more bad games than good.

Exactly.  No leader, no standout.  Just a bunch of 6s and 7s on a 10 point scale.  Nice players, no stars.

And Groce seems to rely on stars on the offensive end. Loosely-goosey, long leashes & let ‘em rip. But we don’t have that player… or two… or three.

This season is a bust.  The weakest link isn't Trimble missing 3s or a lack of effort.  The weakness is that there is ZERO back up for Freeman, and he's a walk on.  Groce had his lightning in the bottle in 2020 and with LCJ.  Nothing against the players.  They are flailing.  How in the hell was the line -7.5?
