So, let's have a little contest as to where Enrique will be picked, by the number of the pick.

I think when evaluating Groce, you have to kind of separate coaching vs recruiting. I don't have many complaints on coaching. I do think there there have been some misses in recruiting. These are all certainly debatable.

Hits

Loren Cristian Jackson

Tyler Cheese

Channel Banks

Malcolm Duvivier

Xeyrius Williams

Ali Ali

Enrique Freeman (some luck here, though)

Mikal Dawson

Xavier Castaneda

Greg Tribble

Aziz Bandaogo

Trendon Hankerson

Sammy Hunter

Neutral

Shammah Scott

Nate Johnson

Tavari Johnson

Deng Riak

Bryan Trimble

Michael Wynn

Maishe Dailey

Jermaine Marshall (became a solid player elsewhere)

Misses

Mark Kostelac

Cameron Reece

Taylor Currie

Tre Edwards

Garvin Clarke

KJ Walton

Eric Hester

Sekou Kalle

Kobe Mitchell

Amani Lyles (prove me wrong, Amani!)

Kaleb Thornton

Ryan Prather Jr.

Darrion Baker

As @1981 grad stated, Khadim Gueye needs to be a miss. I also think Trimble and Dailey should be misses. Michael Wynn could be argued as a "miss" as well. I'd move Riak to "hit". Otherwise, great list.

In terms of Enrique Freeman, we're 2 days away from hearing his name called in the NBA Draft. Whether he's a last 1st rounder or 2nd rounder, what an exciting time for Zips Nation.

I'm going with 30th to Boston.

I agree with you that Riak should be a hit.  You cannot blame Groce for Riak deciding to leave.  Before Riak decided to leave, Freeman indicated that Riak was going to be really good as he gained more experience.

You are thinking of Aziz. Riak is who Freeman played a year behind learning the ropes of D1 big man defensive player.

I was thinking the same thing. I vote for hanging a banner for Enrique's Mom right next to his.

This model has graded Enrique Freeman as the 4th best prospect in this draft. Here are the only eight prospects that graded out with an "A" using this model. I put their grade points from the model below.

Zach Edey (Purdue) = 98.8

Donovan Clingan (UConn) = 97.7

Alexandre Sarr (France) = 92.4

Enrique Freeman (Akron) = 91.6

Ronald Holland  (G-League) = 90.8

Jonathan Mogbo (San Francisco) = 90.7

Kel'el Ware (Indiana) = 90.4

Reed Sheppard (Kentucky) = 89.8

I have a good feeling he'll definitely be drafted either tonight or tomorrow. Hoping for tonight.

Some outlets did a follow up mock draft for tomorrow's round 2 and here's where they got Freeman going:

Sports Illustrated - #39 to Memphis

CBS Sports - #50 to New Orleans

Please, NBA draft gods, save Freeman from Memphis and New Orleans.
