I haven't seen any of the games yet so maybe there's a reason for it, but I see Enrique is only averaging 5 points per game through three summer league games. Not really ideal when looking to make a case for NBA time in a crucial year. Hopefully he closes out strong!

Do you watch Summer league games? It is like watching a bunch of kids playing a pickup game at the local park. It is every man for himself.

He has been averaging a double double in the G League. He'll be fine.

I did not see Monday's game but Freeman was a -29 and there is no way you can spin that in a good way.  He did lead the team with 7 rebounds.  He also had 4 assists and only one turnover.  I watched the first 2 games and Freeman is usually in the corner as a wing and just does not have a lot of offensive moves to the basket.  He sets ball screens and cuts to the basket but most times comes up empty handed even if he is open.   Sometimes he pops up behind the 3 line but has not been htting the 3 ball. His defense has been good along with his rebounding.  Very active on the offensive glass.  The Timberwolves gave his a 2 way so they are invested in him this season.  He also got cut Friday diving for a ball so that certainly indicates his toughness.  It is way too early to judge him based on summer league play.

Enrique has enough on film now between his limited NBA play and the G-League.  At this juncture he needs a team to believe in him more than he needs stellar rookie league performances.

I watched some of the Freeman's game today when the World Cup was not on and Freeman looked good scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds including 6 offensive rebounds.  At the end of the game he was a beast on the offensive boards givning Minn multiple offensive possessions.

Freeman's summer league is over, and it was not great. He was fantastic two nights ago against Indiana, notching a double-double (14/11), but his overall stats were pretty rough:

 

MPG: 21.9

PTS: 7.4

FG%: 45%

3PT%: 11%

FT%: 54%

REB: 7.0

AST: 1.8

TOV: 2.2

 

Hopefully the TWolves are patient with him on that two-way. They are finally committing to him playing the 3, and that will be a big adjustment for him.

I agree. If I remove my Zips colored sunglasses I just don't see him making the NBA at the wing position. Making the NBA is already challenging enough. Only 450 players in the world (which the NBA is a true global game) are on NBA rosters. Now taking away what he does best by moving him away from the basket just further reduces his chances.

The offensive numbers were not great but I wonder how he graded out defensively.  When I watched the games I thought he played great defense, was very strong on the offensive glass, and on occassion could play bully ball and get to the hoop using his size and strength against other forwards.  He has to improve his 3 point shooting and his foul shooting has been better in the past.  Will be interesting to see how he does during the preseason.  Right now he is listed as number three on the depth chart as a forward.  If he has a great preseason he could be competing for a roster spot and not just a 2 way contract.

Not sure if it trickles down to two-ways or if its only for players that make the 15 man.

 

Either way it's great for fringe guys that might not make it past their first NBA rookie deal. Star players, like Lebron, have plenty of other opportunities to cash-in on their likeness.

My hope is it trickles down to two-ways and then as a result eventually trickles down to the Zips basketball program. 🤣

Per Google AI, two-ways are part of the NBAPA and receive the same licensing checks.

My kids play NBA 2k and tell me that Freeman is on the roster and they can use him as a player so it makes sense he would get a check.
