Thornton pulling up with well over 1 second left on that heave at the end was fitting for this game - we were not composed enough and peed down our legs when it mattered. The little things were not done well.

The Zips will face Drake in the 3rd/4th place game after the loss to Utah State.  The Bulldogs are led by Missouri Valley Conference pre-season player of the year Tucker DeVries.  Through 3 games, the 6'7" DeVries averaged 20.7 ppg and 8 rpg.  Graduate 6'10" big man Darrell Brodie made the MVC preseason second team and through 3 games averaged 13 points and 6.5 rpg.  6'1" junior guard Atin White is also scoring 20.7 ppg through 3 games.  The Bulldogs were chosen as the top team in the MVC Preseason poll, though they did not receive the most first place votes.
