Reslife4Life Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Tavari needs to just set up the offense instead of driving the ball with two guys on him Quote

csims0917 Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 (edited) Not happy with our fouls so far this tournament. I can’t see if it’s ticky tacky or if it’s on us Edited November 21, 2023 by csims0917 Quote
csims0917 Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Freeman!!!!! If Utah state keeps this zone he can get hot Quote
csims0917 Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Freeman single handily caught us up in the foul game. He’s drawing a portrait with all these drawed fouls Quote
LoyalZIP Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Not sure how we’re so unprepared for all the defenses we’re facing. Zips have had a 1-3-1 in their bag for years, yet look clueless against it. Pretty disappointed so far, can’t lie. Quote
Zippy87 Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Dawson has taken one shot. That needs to change. 1 Quote
LoyalZIP Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Can’t win with the refs this week. Near side ref had a clear shot of the jersey grab. Quote
csims0917 Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Good timeout Groce we need points here Quote
zipsrule Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Not our best half of basketball, but only down 4. Let's made some adjustments and come out ready for the second half. Quote
csims0917 Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Ugh what a bleh finish. Need to adjust and get the ball to Dawson more Quote
LoyalZIP Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 I suppose lucky to be down only 4. We look like the new, inexperienced group so far, not them. That’s gotta change. Tribble, TJ, Thornton not creating anything for the offense. Wide open misses by Dawson, TJ, KT don’t help either. Quote
clarkwgriswold Posted November 21, 2023 Author Report Posted November 21, 2023 37% shooting for the Zips in the first half, 30% on threes, only 5 bench points. Quote
Illini Zip Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 I’m listening to the game. So we are getting some good looks and just not hitting them? Quote
Let'sGoZips94 Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 Blessing to only be down by 4. Wouldn't be mad if Tavari sat the bench in the 2nd half; maybe he can learn what it means to treasure the basketball. Scott & Thornton can run the point just fine. Would love to see some off the ball movement to help break this 1-3-1. Dawson, Tribble, Johnson, and Scott all need to be looking back-door for the cut. Good matchup and about what I expected. Let's win this 2nd half by a minimum of 5. Quote

Yes and no. Utah State's length isn't allowing for many "good" looks, but we've missed some decent ones. 1 Quote
1981 grad Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 The color analyst made some good points. When Freeman has the ball down low there is no need to have somebody cut down the middle. Just draws another defender. Also, he indicated that Hunter needs to be more active down low and rebound. When Freeman is out he needs to be a rim protector. 1 Quote

LoyalZIP Posted November 21, 2023 Report Posted November 21, 2023 The cut through the lane when Freeman has the ball will rarely work, especially against long good teams. Not sure what the goal is with that time after time. 1 Quote

Going to be a big problem any game EF gets in foul trouble. 1 Quote
