Coit was nothing special at Kansas. As I recall, he was a 15 minute/5 or 6 point a night guy.  He's not capable of 40 points at that level and attitude-wise was not a fit for the Zips.  His chirping at Groce to come get him while on the floor for another team was proof of that.

Get Illinois State into the MAC yesterday.

Nope!! As an ISU alum I want no part of this. I have been to games obviously, but I don’t follow them like I do Akron. Still, I don’t want my loyalties clashing. I will say Redbird arena is pretty sweet and rivalry games against Bradley are always sold out and raucous.

I do support a MAC vs MVC challenge like we are doing with the Sun Belt.

A major difference between the 2 conferences is in the MAC when a coach has success he leaves for greener pastures. In the MVC that successful coach takes his school to greener pastures. Believe it or not, Kansas, Louisville, Missouri, Nebraska, Wichita State, Creighton and more were all members of the MVC at one time ages ago. So for ISU to leave would be par for the course. I just don’t want it.

Even with the MAC improving some this year it would be a brutal challenge for the MAC. The MAC has a steep drop-off after the top 3 or 4 teams. The MVC usually only has 1-2 cupcakes the MAC ~6.

MVC would be a tough challenge. Would love it for Akron but the button half of the conference would get rolled.

MVC might not like it for this reason, but it would improve our strength of schedule as a league. I’m in, even if it was just select match ups.

This guy is a true Princeton genius. Sitting out this season to preserve eligibility while finishing his Princeton degree. He'll then get paid 6 figures minimum to finish his final season of eligibility next year.

The state of Ohio seems to be doing quite well when you consider there's over 350 D1 schools and only two from Ohio are in the bottom half. Also, love to see that one of them is OU.

I guess it depends on how you measure it. Ohio has 13 D1 teams, 7th in state population, and has 3 schools in power conferences. Not to mention Dayton who is an elite mid-major. Realistically, given the size of the state and the number of teams it should be producing at least 1, more likely 2, top 25 teams per season.
