I've been researching the roster limits and I believe the players who were walk-ons are grandfathered in - so Groce and Halligan wouldn't count toward the 15 player limit. They apparently did this so existing walk-ons weren't forced out of programs.

Whatever rotation we start with in November will likely be far different come February and March.

...and we all know the most important rotation is the one in at the end of the game, not the starters.

I’ll go a step further. I always liked our chances of winning when Evan Wilson was in the game at the very end.
