  1. Past hour
  2. If Miami loses this game and do not win the MACC, they will not make the NCAAT. This is huge!
  3. 100% and he fouled out doing the same thing
  4. Man of Steele, emotions of Kleenex.
  5. Suder is on four fouls with a full ten minutes remaining. He is overly aggressive, and the referees are finally calling fouls for it. That's what Coach Steele was upset about at half time. It makes me hope we smoke these whinier than usual cry babies that much more.
  6. Maybe the one time government intervention is a good thing. Clearly the people running it now aren’t fit
  7. I have zero confidence in WMU holding onto this lead but I hope I'm wrong!
  8. Any word on the severity of Skaljac's injury?
  9. Looks like he's out tonight in K-zoo. Gonna make the comeback tough.
  10. Apparently he pushed someone, too. Should be a suspension.
  11. 26 minute interview Wil Trapp sits down with Zarek to talk about the offseason and the coaching staff https://www.mnufc.com/video/sotl-episode-328-the-next-generation-with-wil-trapp#sotl-episode-328-the-next-generation-with-wil-trapp
  12. Yesterday
  13. WMU over Miami 30-26 at HT! Miami's coach had a meltdown going into the locker room. I actually hope Miami keeps winning. I want to beat a Top 15 team in the MACC!
  14. Travis has some maturing to do: throwing a temper tantrum including knocking one of WMU’s speakers over going into the locker room.
  15. They have 2 Gonzaga's of the midwest within an hour drive of them. Both Xavier and Dayton are better positioned. Xavier I suppose shed that title when they moved to Big East, but that's generally why there isn't a "Gonzaga of the Midwest". When a team reaches success they move up. Gonzaga was isolated and there was no Big East type conference on the west coast. They would have otherwise bolted the WCC many years ago had geography allowed it.
  16. The Supreme Court basically told them they needed collective bargaining. They haven't done it. They had better do it before Congress or the SCOTUS does it for them.
  17. People online are saying Gonzaga of the Midwest - WTAF!! They were just a doormat two years ago... Short memories IG
  18. This post nails it. Miami OH is very smart for capitalizing on an exciting era of athletics. However, that intelligence seemingly goes out the window when they decide to plunge themselves into upwards of $200M in debt for a project that seems like complete overkill when the hype for athletics is built on a likely unsustainable run. Ray Kinsella built a nice, modest baseball field when called to, not a glamorous ballpark.
  19. That was mainly why I said it would improve the game. I don't mind the buy out language in some of these contracts. Like the Cincy QB contract stipulates that if he leaves he owes Cincy $1M. The problem is even with that language in the contract whenever it tries to be enforced it turns into a legal battle.
  20. I would hope it would also set up universal TWO way enforceable contracts when a kid decides to depart.
  21. Looking forward to seeing the far 3/4's of the floor tonight. I hate that damn barn.
  22. AD reported on X that they are confident they can get $75M-$100M in donations to help fund. Even so that would leave ~$170M-$200M that they will have to finance. That's going to make our debt servicing on Infocision appear awfully small in comparison. Edit: Frankly if they were able to secure $100M in donations they could have fully funded this project with a more modest build. Maybe needing to borrow just a little if they had a few over runs. Georgia State just completed a very nice arena for $85 million and that was in Atlanta where I imagine labor costs are much higher.
  23. Miami OH's Board of Trustees approved the project.
  24. When we shoot the ball well from 3 we are unbeatable in the MAC. We just have too much talent and athleticism and wear teams down. We saw that in the 2nd half against Buffalo. However, when we do not shoot the ball well from 3 we have enough talent to stay with the competition but it will be a close game. Really hoping we get hot from 3 and send the Kent fans home early tonight.
  25. When we were an Adidas school before the basketball team still had LeBron's. I wouldn't see why that would be an issue now if Groce sees value in keeping the brand connected to the basketball team.
  26. I hope this isn't a case of an AD changing to change so they can add something to their resume (Ex: Guthrie with the rebrand). I'm assuming how they value us relates to our contract amount. If it is a significant difference and the increase in money can be spent on the roster, then sure, let's change. But if it's close or something else not relevant, I hope he reconsiders. Nike is the premier basketball shoe provider. Jordan's, LeBron's, Kobe's, Sabrina's and even Ja's are very popular with young players. Having even a small connection to the greatest basketball player of all-time and being one of only a handful of schools to receive and wear his shoes isn't nothing either.
