  1. Past hour
  2. Back to back wins for UMass vs ACC teams. At one point, UMass was up by 18 pts late in the game.
  3. Today
  4. You know concord is gonna come in to the jar one of these years guns a blazin ready to knock us off!
  5. UMass beat FSU!!!
  6. The real trap game is the Eastern Michigan game as they look forward to Concord.
  7. Kent had, in some cases, multiple degrees for the same subject area. Most of the subject areas are still available but without multiple degree designations (i. e. B.A vs B.S.). They are not eliminating nine study areas. They are, however, still Kant State and offering many degrees without viable career paths and without the intern, coop, research, club groups that create opportuntunies that have become a signature feature of many of Akron's options. Note the last edition of Zip Insider where Allen, the pole vaulter with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and now pursuing a Master's in statistics mentioned the importance of internships even with the stem degrees she is getting. The importance of having degrees in job-oriented fields with good experience opportunities was also cited in this week's Board meeting by the Provost as being a factor in the increased number of 2027 applications even with a smaller student pool. She mentioned that Akron is doing a better job of telling that story to prospective students and finding more who are listening to that set of factors in their decision making. I hope that is true because students need to consider these items. Students too often pick colleges for insane reasons. Akron needs to continue down this road of making their degrees produce job-ready graduates in as high a percentage as possible. GO ZIPS!
  8. Chemistry, Life Science, Math, Physics. That is wild to eliminate majors that have been around since basically whenever higher education started
  9. Hope the Zips don't get caught looking forward to Eastern Michigan. Potential trap game.
  10. The bad news is the men's game isn't on ESPN+. The good news is that the women's game at #6 Michigan isn't either.
  11. Get Joe Dunn on there with them that would be pure entertainment
  12. Okay, we need 20 guys to all kick in a buck and we're going to @kreed5120's to watch the stream. He's providing the grub.
  13. KSU to eliminate 19 undergrad majors. Due to lack of conferring degrees (<5) over a 3-year window. A couple of these programs should have never been majors to begin with, but the vast majority of these are serious areas of study.
  14. I think the fact they don't have any competition from other FBS and more importantly pro teams helps them. Similar to the Dakotas in the FCS. Boise has seen explosive growth in recent years, but 20 years ago your options were either go to the game or go cow tipping.
  15. The championship was played December 6 at First Energy Stadium. The best team lost. Damn!
  16. I wasn't being serious. Boise State should be a tough job, though.
  17. The video clip they just showed of the 1959 SLU championship was insane. It looked like they played on the equivalent of the intramural field behind manny’s in a mud pit
  18. They play in a metro of 850K, which is still rapidly growing, where they're literally the only show in town. They were well funded before, but now will even have more money at their disposal once they join the PAC-12. They've played in New Year's Day bowls on several occasions. Have had success under multiple coaches and those coaches have received big money jobs at P4 schools afterwards. IMO Boise St. is one of the best P4 jobs for an up and coming coach. It has good brand recogninition, well funded, and proven success across multiple coaches.
  19. Good news is that, unlike some years, Zips can hang with any of these four CC teams. We are not far away.
  20. What about Akron's team O/U?
  21. Someone who looked at a map.
  22. Watching Xavier host Missouri State on TNT right now. Akron would run Xavier out of the gym.
  23. She got Sherron and the staff.
