A couple years ago, when Freeman was here, we had a pretty comfortable 20 pt lead for most of the game but the refs took over and ruined the final score. Out of curiosity I looked and found Akron's longest win streak vs Kent is 9 games. That streak occurred from 1941 to 1947. Kent has never had a winning streak last longer than 5 games.

CMU has played pretty well at home this year going 5-3 in conference. They are the only team in the Mac to not have a road win this year. They beat Kent and BG at home, this is definitely not automatic, need to keep our heads on straight and focus on the game at hand

They have what I want in blue or white at the bookstore, but not gold. I like gold. I've stuck with it since KD abandoned the school colors for 5 years or so in our uniforms. 🙂

I could care less who the contract is with. What I would like to see is moderately priced merchandise in Walmart, Target, Meijer, etc. I did find a decent long sleeve t-shirt at Giant Eagle on Howe Avenue that doesn't look like all the others, but that seems to be a one time thing. Also, not sure where he gets off thinking he can damage other people's property, and the MAC and NCAA are no big deal. A few things here. 1) Surprised to see Sendy take accountability for once instead of trying to blame an injury, not having resources to compete, or whatever else. 2) Evan has played the PF position for Akron all season. This isn't some new revelation. Is this his first Akron game that he has watched/covered this season? I will say the breakdown was otherwise very good. I do wonder if how much energy and focus Amani played with on the defensive end impacted his offensive play. I said before this may have been his best game defensively. Certainly it's up there.

I know we often talk about the Kent State hangover, but yesterday’s game didn’t strike me as physically and emotionally draining as some in the past. We didn’t start the game with a tip-off scrum for one. I’m sure there will still be a tendency for a let down. Don’t do it Zips!! Handle your business.

The Zips head to Mount Pleasant Tuesday to face the Chippewas. The Chipps are 9-19 heading into Buffalo today but are 8-4 at home. CMU's offense is pretty balanced with 4 players averaging between 10 and 12 points. The Zips beat them at the JAR 82-69 on January 6th.
