And programs that are not traditional powers but have managed to do some building despite NIL, such as Indiana, will be more short-lived now more than ever, unless they have a Phil Knight on speed dial to retain talent and team chemistry.
-
Why is NIL not kind to these three schools?
-
Good post. Kelly was a terrible hire for cultural reasons. Put LSU into the category of Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Nebraska, etc. Once great programs whose best day are in a world long past. The nil era isn't going to be kind to these schools. They will almost always exist the second level.
-
Brian Kelly of LSU was added to the bin of discarded Power 4 coaches. It's astounding how short-sighted and toxic these unreasonable demands of proven, quality coaches from administrators and powerful alumni are. LSU lost to an undefeated #3 team in the country and are/were in the Top 25 themselves, yet he gets canned mid-season. There is no such thing as program building anymore. Thanks, NIL.

So when we win by 30 it doesn't mean we're winning the Natty? -
Perfect name too!

I save those for kids standing on the rail?

I will say this is also with the league practice restrictions in place because of our grades. I fully blame the full administration for that but the fact we are still performing this well with that stipulation as well is something to make note of

For future reference, I can highly recommend the Zip Burger at Zip's Cafe, ~3.5 miles from Xavier's soccer field. Tasted great, especially following a 3-1 Zips WIN!!! https://www.zipscafe.com/menu/

Bump. Went ahead and included weeks 10 and 11 for conference play due to all the mini-byes for MACtion.
-
5-7 is a year I'll take, but he will need to follow it up with 6+ win season next year before I would even consider an extension. We wouldn't be in a position to buy out 4-5 years of his contract if he regressed nor could we keep a coach around for 10 years that has never made it to a bowl game. It would place the University into a tougher bind than it is already.
-
Even 5-7 would be our best season since 2017 and it’s objectively still taking the program upward even with all of our all conference players transferring/graduating from last year.

nice win, fellas

As I recall, our Zips missed the MAC Tournament in 2022, but earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. -
it's going to be the season that should have been: as of today: miami 4-0 should have won buffalo 3-1 won central michigan 3-1 won ball state 2-2 should have won toledo 2-2 dominated us Zips SHOULD be 4-1 right now and at the top of the MAC. Oh the woulda shoulda coulda If Joe Moe can win the last three despite the shouldas i'd say it was still a good season. 6-6 is probably more than what most on here would have realistically thought they would have achieved although they could have gone much higher. id consider 6-6 a win and wouldn't chase Joe out

One would think, right? sternly written email to follow?

That's the issue with having an odd number of teams in conference. It won't be an issue next year when NIU is no longer in the conference.
-
Interesting changes. I would think they'd push back the south bleachers as that would put that area closer to the student section. They have done a very good job of getting the students involved the last 2 or 3 years.
