i hope none of our guys have serious symptoms. Priorities. Get healthy, fellas! On a side note, this is going to hurt as we were really starting to play well. We're going to go into conference play rusty. But, ... priorities. Get healthy guys.2 points

I thought I saw somewhere that @Hilltopper posted that Moorhead will be both the HC and OC freeing up some extra money to hire better assistants elsewhere. When he speaks I listen as he's proven to know what he talks about.1 point

Here are a couple of articles I found. If they are already posted, I apologize. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/inside-akron-football-e2-80-99s-hiring-of-new-head-coach-joe-moorhead-e2-80-93-terry-pluto/ar-AARSeu9?ocid=uxbndlbing https://www.wksu.org/sports/2021-12-15/why-joe-moorhead-is-leaving-a-1-million-job-to-try-to-turn-around-akron-football1 point

Losing by 20 and 12 to Fordham and App State respectively? Marshall is our only respectable win. We don't have a right to look down upon any DI opponent (except PCCC). There isn't a positive spin to put on this in my opinion. I'm tired of COVID, and I'd love to play another DI opponent before going into MAC play, especially with our next game being BUGS on the 29th. That will be 2 weeks since we've played a game.1 point

I'm looking at Radford's schedule and wondering what justifies the view of them essentially being a scrimmimmage (to quote Benchwarmers) like Point Park. Their schedule blows ours out of the water. Sure their record isn't great (2-7 against DI teams), but we're 5-3 against DI teams with double-digit losses to App State and Fordham. They have respectable losses to WVU and James Madison, while also playing against UVA and VaTech. I would have loved for this game to take place.1 point

Naaaah, they just threw a dart at a map and it landed on UA. Pure happenstance with no contact. 🙄 I also suspect that the coaches numbers aren't published on a public website. If so, could you imagine Milwee's voicemail when he came in Monday morning? Also, if the players are trying to contact a coach and don't have his contact info odds are the school doesn't want him. Recruiting doesn't work in the direction of player>Coach.1 point

You could ask the kids that committed. I bet they talked to someone first1 point

Let’s try not to start pitting the vaxed players against their teammates. Vaccinated people are testing positive and spreading it as well. Nearly the whole NFL is vaccinated and it’s not making a difference for spread. And I’m fully vaxed and definitely think it helps prevent severe infection.1 point

Kent lost a game because of CSU issues. Some of the Zips aren't vaccinated. They are risking their own health and the season for their teammates.1 point

What went into Cam Wiley's decision to transfer? Fleck: "Once they hit the portal, my philosophy is I don't really say much about them, but Cam Wiley is an awesome young man, and I'm sad to see him go. But there's some reasons why he wanted to go and get closer to home and his family and I wish him all the best and I support him 100%. But like I said before. This is the offseason that is the second year of that portal being open and people able to know what it's like and all over the country, that's going to happen more and more. Especially whether they have depth charts, whether they get closer to home, whether they have family issues, whether they have these things that the portals designed for the young players to have opportunities that fit them really well. Whether they stay or whether they go. And everybody has a different personal situation. And I think that's what it was designed for to make sure that the student athlete has the ability to you know find the proper home or get closer to home, or whatever their circumstances are. They have the ability without being punished to be able to make their life better. Their personal life better, and again, I support him 100%. Again, I'm going to miss him as he's a really good person and I had a wonderful talk with him. And we wish him all the best."1 point

I suspect Greg Tribble may have been the start of this. Hopefully, they can work this through and be ready for the MAC season starting on the 29th.1 point

"You can win at Akron." - JoeMo quote from Pluto article. Absolutely. There is absolutely no good reason for Akron to be as bad as it has been over the course of so many years.1 point

JoMo will be calling his own plays. Money saved on not hiring an OC will be spent getting high quality assistants for other positions.1 point

I just don't know why we wouldn't want to be unique AND get away from the last 3 years of script embarrassment. Fresh start! Rebrand! It has already been created so no effort needed. We've got Rooheads on the football field, "Z" on the basketball court, script Akron on football helmets, "Z" on the Gozips website, etc. Consistency and repetition drives branding. The "Z" is cool and I can't think of another school that could use it. Like the rest of you I am more interested in Ws though.1 point

I realize I was going to be one of the 300 there, but it's going to be a rough couple weeks. Agree with Clark that this was basically a practice session. Get Aziz some more minutes, etc.0 points
